Hurtta Monsoon Dog Raincoat

Measured my dog via the instructions on Hurrta’s website..doesn’t fit at all way too big and even trying to adjust it still is just not right…$76 for something my dog can’t even use..

Thoughtfully Designed Raincoat

I ordered the 18-inch Hurtta Monsoon Dog Raincoat for my 27 lb miniature Golden Doodle and it fit her long slender body perfectly with a simple adjustment of the girth strap. Coverage over the hip area is so much better than her old Derby Originals coat and she doesn't mind the leg straps that keep the coat from shifting on rainy windy days. For sure, I will be ordering one of Hurtta's snow coats for next winter.

Stellar Coat- Lacking belly coverage

Hurtta makes high end dog gear, for sure. This coat is no exception. It is pleasant to touch, highly functional, relatively quiet under movement, effectively engineered. My issues are nearly always with sizing, which due to Hurtta’s “proprietary sizing,” should less of a hassle. My dog is hard to size and oddly proportioned- small, long, narrow, and tiny legged. She’s about 17.75” long, with a 18.75” chest and 13” neck. We went with the 16” coat vs the 18” because her chest is so narrow. By cinching and working the chest buckle to the absolutely smallest setting this just fits. Length is good and I love Hurtta’s draw cord adjustment system. We found that the leg loops were necessary to keep the coat on her back properly without sliding off. Hurtta designs feature a bit too much extra fabric for my liking- lots of extra material for a little dog. However, this is a very effective raincoat from the top down in rain. If you have a taller dog, it’s a great choice. But it offers very little belly protection for splash back or wetness from the ground. If you’ve got a short dog, this is critical to keeping them dry- a dry back is good but a soaked undercarriage is cold and dirty. Hard to pay so much for half a dry dog, but it is a great coat for more traditionally sized or taller pooches.

Loved this rain jacket!!

We used this for the first time in Bend on a 2.5 mile hike where it was snowing the whole time. Our pup remained completely dry underneath the jacket. She is normally a chewer who doesn't like things around her neck but she did not mind it at all. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous rain coat!

Quality piece of dog attire. Lightweight soft fabric, easy on and off and does a great job while dealing with walking my dog when it is raining! Love it!

Great Rain Coat

We live in the Pacific NW with an active Golden Retriever. This coat is AWESOME. It stays in place, thanks to the hind straps. He doesn't seem to notice the straps at all, which was a little bit of a concern for me. The piece that goes under him protects his chest from the kick up from the sidewalk/ground. Highly recommend.

Love this rain coat. Keeps my two pups dry. Even in a down pour. Would highly recommend.

Fits perfect just like his Hurtta winter coat. Easy to put on and off. Kept Jack nice and dry!
