Hurtta Padded Dog Harness

I bought this for my Xoloitzcuintle who is a bit of a difficult fit. I went a size down and it is perfect. It does not rub her hairless skin and offers me good control. The only draw back is sliding it over her head which she is not crazy about. We will deal with that however.

I have tried quite a few harnesses on my Chihuahuas and found this one to be the best one yet! Easy on/easy off (after you cut off the the section behind the buckle). It is very non restrictive and allows for free movement. I bought one and tried it out on my little guy who hiked with me for an hour and forgot all about the harness. He usually shakes often and scratches at the harness occasionally during a walk. Never fully comfortable. He was so comfortable with his harness I bought 2 more for my other Chihuahuas.

Love this for my miniature schnauzer! Walking her with this harness does not hurt her and she does not pull.

I am a little disappointed. I’ve been searching everywhere for a decent padded harness and have only seen good ones for small dogs. I ordered this with high hopes but the part that goes underneath isn’t padded and that’s the area on my dog that needs padded the most, since she has such short hair (especially on her belly up to her chest) she gets rope burn from harnesses without padding :( Maybe this would be good for your dog if they have more fuzz underneath however mine doesn’t. At least the design is cool

I bought this harness because I have issues with my dogs pulling. Other one of them is also ”afraid” of other harnesses so far and won’t walk in them. He was kinda scketchy about it first and looked at me weird but he actually likes the harness! No pulling! Super easy to put on no need to lift their leg to get it on or anything and buckle clicks from the side! Highly recommended!!

I had high hopes that this harness would be it for my service dog. I do like the style alright. It is extremely nicely padded inside, except for the rough band that tucks against the stomach. The material stitching on the outside is stiff and rough to touch. The rings on the side are so widely spaced to the sides I'm not sure what they'd be good for, because it pulls the harness awkwardly. My biggest complaint is the fit. If I had gone down to the recommended size of my dogs girth the chest wouldn't have fit, so I went up 2 sizes. Any smaller and the chest would have been way too small, but tightened up all the way on the belly it still has a gap when I pull on the handle. Love the harness but the size chart is confusing. The Harness is sized in number sizes but when it says size 32, that will not fit a dog with a 32 inch chest measurement! I needed a 30inch circumference harness for my Lab so I ordered a size 32 to accommodate for 2 finger comfort sizing. When it came it was too small so I looked at the size chart again to figure out what went wrong, then I noticed the "size" is not the inches circumference needed! When I called, the representative refunded the cost, told me to keep or donate the too small harness to a shelter, and then she helped me order the correct size and included Free shipping on the new order which was well below the $49 shipping requirement Love the harness but the size chart is confusing. I found these harnesses in Nederland after seeing my friends dog wear them. I bought 2 for my dogs. Unfortunately one didn't fit. I had bee searching for these ever since. When I found them on chewy I was amazed. I ordered 3 and they all fit great. They are so easy to get on and off. No stepping into them. My dogs seems to love them as they are less cumbersome as other harnesses.I hope to have them for a very long time. Thanks Chewy!!

Size/Fit: This harness is not very adjustable. We tried EZ walk and other high end harnesses, all which either don't adjust well to our dog's body, or they cause chaffing and he begins to run at the sight of the harness. This goes over his head easily but I have to have him in a down position so I don't hurt him trying to awkwardly bend his legs and put them through. There's not enough room for him to "step into" this harness. According to his measurements and the size chart, he was on the border between a 32" and a 35" We have been searching for a better harness, and I was pretty excited this one might be "the one" for our labrador. There are significant gaps on the side when he's moving that I haven't been able to adjust out. 2. Padding: I thought the belly strap would be padded but it turns out it isn't and still rubs against him, which will chafe overtime just like all the others we've tried. 3. Leash attachment: I am not a fan of the ring for leash attachment can move freely on the handle which compromises control at times during our walks. Based the challenges we've had with it, I would not recommend. Maybe those it has worked for don't have dogs that are in between sizes? … more

Love these Hurtta harnesses so much I bought another. Newest version has a nice handle loop which is super convenient to reign in your pet or simply assist in lifting up. Love it. Top notch on the quality!
