ehh I hope it lasts
By Zach on Dec 16, 2020
So, I just got this coat today and I was super impressed/excited to try it out with my rescue dog Syd. She loves walking on the trails but is pretty skinny and not much of a natural winter coat. I love how easy it is to get on and the straps but the reflective pieces won't last long. They are already falling off after one trail walk. I've had a similar coat from Ruffwear which has the reflective piping stitched into the coat opposed to this Hurtta which is only heat sealed and not effectively heat sealed... I guess it's not major but I'm hoping the rest of the coat holds up. I love the fit and everything else, just a bit skeptical of the durability

Awesome Dog Parka
By Hunter on Jan 14, 2021
This parka is incredibly well made and my dog, Hunter loves it when it is cold outside. If it is rainy, I have a clear plastic rain coat to put over the parka to keep Hunter dry and warm. I don't even have to fight with Hunter to put this on. He just stands there and lets me get him all secure and then we are ready to go. This dog parka is worth the investment!!!! It's got pockets on it that I can put his boots in when he is not needing to wear the boots. Nope, my Hunter is not spoiled, just well loved and Chewy is an awesome company to buy pet supplies!!!!

Coverage + Warmth
By patrizia on Dec 29, 2020
This is a great parka. It's made in Finland for dogs who spend time outside in rugged conditions, and it 's a very high quality product. Having said that, I think it's probably best for average winter conditions, not extreme cold (but Hurtta makes parkas for those purposes). It is super easy to slip on, so my dog doesn't resist putting it on. What makes this parka different from most of the other dog coats on the market is that the belly, chest and neck are covered, as well as the back. And the sizing is very exact, so it should fit your dog perfectly, assuming you follow their sizing/measuring instructions. The only downside is the elastics on the rear leg flaps, which are meant to secure This is a great parka. It's a great idea, but they tend to slip toward my female dog's vulva, and can be irritating. They should redesign the placement of those elastics. Hence the 4 rating instead of 5. … more

I’ve owned 3 of these they’re the best rain coat e
By dogmom62 on Jan 1, 2021
These are $$ but every once in awhile you can find your size on sale , the retail is 80$ but I will tell you it’s so much easier to slip on a dog that isn’t crazy about wearing a coat ! It keeps my huge Labrador dry and the lining is soft (not too hot ) I’m in the south so no heavy coats ! I’ve tried the lighter weight slick ones my dog hates them !! I have 4 dogs - 2 gate the rain and just refuse to go out until it stops or they have a coat on - ( 2 could care less !)! My girl (heavy Akita mix coat ) has worn this coat for 3 years ! It’s easy on and she can actually run abs play bc of the leg elastics ! I checked here and on another site until I could get my 100 lb Labrador a new one ( his These are $$ but every once in awhile you can find your size on sale , the retail is 80$ but I will tell you it’s so much easier to slip on a dog that isn’t crazy about wearing a coat ! Excellent coat!
By Nicole on Dec 29, 2020
I bought this for my whippet mix to help protect against harsh winter weather. It is very good quality. Soft and made well. WaterPROOF which is huge! Ordered orange and can spot her easily from far away on off leash hikes. Excellent product and amazing quality. Highly recommend. 42lb catahoula/whippet mix, ordered 20in and fits like a glove. Has bungees to make a bit smaller so not the end of the world if you order a little bigger accidentally but definitely measure according to the chart provided.

Parka for my best friend
By DonnieJim on Jan 14, 2021
I purchased this Hurtta Summit Insulated Dog Parka for my young Female German Shepard. It keeps her warm when she goes out in freezing weather with my Newfoundland to play in their 1 acre yard. When she comes in and I take the jacket off, her fur is nice and warm where the Parka makes contact with the fur. The other parts of her body feel cold. So I know it is working well. My wife is now a believer as well.

Great Jacket for Pugs!
By sally2 on Dec 21, 2020
I've tried a few winter jackets for my pug and none of them fit quite right since he's so chesty but overall small. Was recommended this one and it's great! I got a size 12, there are so many adjustment areas that it can get fit his chest and whole body great! We don't really like the leg loops but just don't use them. I have him wear his 2 Hounds Design harness underneath and am still able to use the front clip without problems too! I was hesitant to order this at first since it's so expensive but I feel like it keeps him warm and he's more comfortable in this jacket since it's so easy to put on. Great Coat
By Nancy on Dec 20, 2020
I had been looking for a coat that would actually cover my dogs entire back and this one does. It fit perfectly, easy to put on and stays in place. My only negative would be the rear leg straps, they are not long enough and end up in a bad spot on the dog. I just don't use them because the coat doesn't slide anyway. I bought the 24" for a 60lb Coonhound. Just ordered another ("18") for a smaller Coonie, hoping it fits her just as well.

Great winter coat!
By Sarah on Jan 13, 2021
We have a medium size short hair dog, we got the blaze orange coat, so easy to see her, so warm for her. She spends so much more time outdoors which she loves especially when there’s snow! She got used to it very quickly other than the leg straps which we use occasionally when needed.

A cold gear must! Fit my lab perfectly
By Loonies on Nov 14, 2020
Clothes for my lab is a hit or miss. She has a large chest (34”), neck (19”). I bought the 22” coat and it fits very well. I like the over the belly straps- seem to really secure in and any snow on the ground won’t fall in. I also really like the leg bungees. I have another coat by a more expensive brand that has the same bungees- Only difference is that on that jacket they are very tight where I think it bothers the dog. But not these, the jacket seems comfortable enough. Wish there were more colors available.
