Helpful for anxiety
By Stayseajo on Aug 11, 2021
This really helped my Maltese with separation anxiety. It would keep her occupied in her kennel so I could get things done. She’s handicapped, so she has to be carried most of the time to get around. If I leave the room she cries. The only downfall is it’s really hard to clean and it’s made of that rubbery material that EVERYTHING sticks to, hair, dirt etc, so that makes it kind of gross. As long as you clean it right away after using it and then rinse it right before the next use, it’s ok. I’m just not sure why it couldn’t be made out of a slightly different material to prevent that. That’s the only reason for the 4 stars.

It’s a no from me
By Nelly on May 11, 2021
Do not leave your dog unattended with this. I put frozen peanut butter on here and left for 30 min only to come back and see she had chewed off a piece. She could have swallowed it and choked.

A Big Hit for Mealtime!
By DogDad on Feb 19, 2021
Finally I have time to walk out the door after serving up dinner! My two gals eat slowly and lick lick lick their plates for several minutes each meal. I'm glad we got one of each texture. Each has its uses. You can't go wrong with these.

Fun yums for me
By Kate on Jan 16, 2021
When I need to go in my house and I do not want to my mommy or daddy puts delicious wet food, or peanut butter, or plain yogurt, or canned pumpkin (or all of these) on my Likimat and then I run right in to my house because it is fun and relaxing to lick it clean! Sometimes they put it in the freezer and then it takes me even longer to lick clean.

My dogs love the lickimats!
By Diana on Dec 4, 2020
My dogs love these and they are perfect to give during stressful situations like thunderstorms, construction work, and just as an enrichment activity. I spread a variety of their favorite foods on it (peanut butter, canned food, plain yogurt, apple sauce, baby food, or even just soak their kibble to soften it up). Once they got used to the mats I began to freeze them to make it last longer. I do have to take them up when my dogs finish so they don't use them as chew toys. Even with my dogs trying to BITE the food out of the grooves, they hold up great!

my dog loves it!
By Alaina on Nov 5, 2020
I ordered this because the sun is setting earlier and it’s getting colder so neither myself or my dog will want to go on long walks much longer. This is a great way to keep her stimulated and entertained! I’ve been using pumpkin purée and peanut butter on the mat and she loves it! Highly recommend

Disappointed
By Frydscrk on Nov 23, 2020
The theory is great, the material used is good quality, but I wouldn't buy it again. 1) it moves on the floor slowly defeating the purpose of keeping the pet stationary 2) the walls of the design are not quite high enough to make them work for it. True of a Dachshund and a Lab.

Keeps our labrador mix entertained on her bed
By Sita on Aug 22, 2020
We're on heartworm treatment with our local rescue and she needs to stay stationary as much as possible. We bought this (alongside multiple Ruffwear gnawt-a-cones and other ball type fill-ins) so we can have a rotation of freezer ready little treats to keep her engaged throughout the day. We coated these with nonfat plain yogurt, frozen peas, a couple pieces of kibble, and frozen banana, and it kept her going for 30 minutes. We don't expect this to be a meal replacement (we use a puzzle feeder for that since she's a gulper) but am glad it brings a moment of joy in her life. For $8 / each, I think as long as it's handwashed, it'll be intact for a long while. Lick Mats Are Great But Make Sure You Supervise Early Use
By Alex on Jul 13, 2020 top250Contributor
My pup did not initially understand the concept of the lick mat, after licking off as much as she could she decided to get the rest of the rest off by chewing on the mat. We bent it instead so it was easier for her to lick off the remains. We continued this process for the next few uses to prevent her from eating the mat itself and soon enough she figured it out. She now uses the lick mat without issues. Just make sure to supervise use, they don't make great chew toys.

Very satisfied
By Katmandog on Jul 5, 2020
We needed something to slow our dog down when eating. Most slow feeders are designed for dry food so we thought we would try the LickiMats to feed a wet raw diet. It is a big success. Button used to be done eating before we even put the other animals’ food down & then she would lurk while they finished eating. Now we can feed them all & she works on her mat long after they are done. I don’t know how this would work for a larger dog Button is a 20lb artisan terrier.
