Questions & Answers

The nutritional information says there are 332 kcal/cup - is that per dry cup or is that after the food has been hydrated? So that the 1 1/2 cups dry makes about 3 3/8 would then been around 1100 calories?
Answer by ChewyDec 22, 2017
All calories are reported once the product is already re-hydrated.

Where is it made?
Answer by ChewyNov 06, 2017
Their products are manufactured in the USA, but they source some high-quality ingredients from around the world. All their products are produced and packaged in the United States, and the majority of the ingredients are sourced and originate in the US or Canada. They source some proteins from outside the US or Canada, such as from Australia, Brazil, and New Zealand, and always looking for the highest-quality ingredients we can find. There are ingredients, for instance some essential vitamins and minerals, that simply do not originate in the US. They utilize these vitamins and minerals to meet AAFCO requirements for balanced nutritional needs. However, the vitamins and minerals are blended in the United States by a US company and the supplier undergoes many quality checks to ensure safety.

How many dry cups are in a 5.5 bag?
Answer by ChewyNov 19, 2018
The 5.5-pound bag contains approximately 20 cups of dry food. This should make about 60 cups of prepared food.

How many pounds of food does this make for the smaller bag and the large bag?
Answer by ChewyJul 23, 2018
The 1.5 pound bag makes 10 pounds of fresh food and the 5.5 pound bag makes 36 pounds of fresh food.

Best Dehydrated Food

My dog loves all selections of this brand. It’s quick and plumps right up. I add a little oatmeal and veggies and it’s a hardly meal! This brand travels well and easy for asking others to feed your pet in a pinch.

Quality product

I had seen this product in a store, so I went to Chewy.com to purchase it. My lil fur baby Ella loves it! My lil fur boy Greyson does not...but he is picky. I love that is is a natural, no garbage, quality product. For me, freeze dried is the way to go. Quality protein.... not “parts”. From opening the bag and smelling it, you know it’s quality pet food. I feel better feeding my babies food that is of superior quality. Every pup is different, so give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.

This makes my dog sick!

Very disappointed in this. I started by buying the single cups at the grocery store, and my dog loved it so I ordered the bag of the same kind. It looks MUCH different the single cups, and it mixes differently as well. Fed this twice to my guy, and he threw it up a couple hours later. I will donate the rest to my local shelter, but am very disappointed in my purchase. The food is high quality according the ingredients and may do well for other dogs, just didn't do it for us.

Good brand, wish my dog like this particular food

Love the brand and often buy their products. This particular food I just couldn't get my dog to like. It seems healhier than kibble, but he just is't a fan.

Dog loves it.

The ingredients are pretty good and my dog loves this food rehydrated. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the expiration date on the bag was for only one month away. Have to use it right away even though I bought this to use later because I still had 2 bags of this food.

I and Love and You - Turk Baboomb

I have been feeding my dog this food for several years. It keeps him very lean and healthy. I like that it is raw, dehydrated and natural. I don't like processed foods of any kind and am very happy to have found this brand. I really do believe it's made with love!

Sensitive Tummy Approved!

My 4 yr old small mix has an EXTREMELY sensitive stomach and is also pretty picky. We just finished the switch to this food and he LOVES it, and has had no stomach issues so far (knock on wood).

Picky Husky Approved!

This is our pets current breakfast. Smells like I want to eat it too hahaha. I make it with a little more water then called for and add it on top of their kibble. No tummy issues, and the second I open the bag they all come stumbling into the kitchen because they know its meal time. :)

May be wonderful food but I wasn't fond of the powdery consistency

The consistency is some chunks suspended in this powdery substance. So it ends up looking kind of like instant oatmeal with some chunks in it. It took well over an hour to fully rehydrate which I also didn't like. 15 to 20 min should be enough time. I know it has some really great ingredients but I wanted something chunkier. With these powdery-type foods like Honest Kitchen and others, the powder gets everywhere and I have to wipe off the muzzles of my dogs so they are not wiping the powder off on my furniture or rugs. Just too messy for my tastes. If you don't mind the consistency then this food will probably be great for you. However, for approximately the same price you can buy Tylee's frozen foods which are great or Nulo's dehydrated which does come in chunks or cubes with no powder (unless the bag has been crushed). Tylee's comes frozen, ready to serve with no mixing. How Chewy can afford to ship Fed Ex Frozen is beyond me but I LOVE Chewy's.
