    Sensitive Tummy Approved!

    By on

My 4 yr old small mix has an EXTREMELY sensitive stomach and is also pretty picky. We just finished the switch to this food and he LOVES it, and has had no stomach issues so far (knock on wood).

    Picky Husky Approved!

    By on

This is our pets current breakfast. Smells like I want to eat it too hahaha. I make it with a little more water then called for and add it on top of their kibble. No tummy issues, and the second I open the bag they all come stumbling into the kitchen because they know its meal time. :)

May be wonderful food but I wasn't fond of the powdery consistency

    By on

The consistency is some chunks suspended in this powdery substance. So it ends up looking kind of like instant oatmeal with some chunks in it. It took well over an hour to fully rehydrate which I also didn't like. 15 to 20 min should be enough time. I know it has some really great ingredients but I wanted something chunkier. With these powdery-type foods like Honest Kitchen and others, the powder gets everywhere and I have to wipe off the muzzles of my dogs so they are not wiping the powder off on my furniture or rugs. Just too messy for my tastes. If you don't mind the consistency then this food will probably be great for you. However, for approximately the same price you can buy Tylee's The consistency is some chunks suspended in this powdery substance. OUTSTANDING! Picky Poodle Approved!

    By on Top 25 Contributor

This was our first time trying this brand of freeze dried fresh dog food (it didn't meet our needs prior to their recent formula reboot) though we've tried and do use several others on a rotational basis, just as we rotate our kibble to prevent food boredom and boost immunity. We use these foods as a "gravy" for lack of another word, to mix into high quality kibble at dinner time for my very picky service dog (a 65 lb standard poodle)While our other products produce a far less "chunky" consistency - more like an oatmeal consistency (we use a bit more water than would be used for food as we are literally making a gravy) This product came out like a stew. While I'm sure my dog would have been happy with this, I didn't want him picking choice pieces out so I mixed it 50/50 with a bag of the other product - voila. For curiosities sake, I also tried running half a bag through my food processor and leaving the other half as is; also voila! GRAVY! My dog loved it, it smelled good, the ingredients are good, we're both happy! We'll be ordering two 1.5 lb bags of a different protein in our next auto ship (one left as is, the other will get a spin in the food processor)This is a great product to add healthy variety and minimally processed foods to your dogs diet, get picky dogs to eat (He doesn't care how high quality the kibble is)and if you're like me - a dog mom with a big dog and a budget that doesn't let you color outside the lines, You may not be able to feed a minimally processed diet exclusively but feeding minimally processed for a portion of their diet is more reachable. Some benefit is far better than none! … more

Too Much Change - Feeding Requirements and Pricing Near Doubled Over a Month

    By on

I noted on the last order the consistency changed quite a bit and the feeding requirements nearly doubled, along with near double the price. My dog always seemed hungry and I should have trusted that versus the previous feeding requirements noted on the bag. With these changes, it's almost tripled the cost. Looking for another product.

    Still good, but not great

    By on

The recent changes in ingredients make this one not as good as it was beforehand. Although the changes appear to make the food even healthier for our dogs, I find that the food doesn't absorb the water as well, so even if I use less water than called for, it's still watery and not fully absorbed. But that's not enough to make me stop using the brand. I still think it's the best one I've seen. My dog loves it and I'm happy with the ingredients. Just wish they could fix the absorption.

    My dog won't eat it

    By on

I had high hopes but she wont' touch it. The product itself after soaking in water for 15 minutes smells like freshly mowed grass, maybe that's why she is not attracted by it.

    The pups loved it!

    By on

My three big dogs didn't think twice about chowing down. When mixed per the instructions, it is a bit more soupy than I'd like to see, but they had no issues with it.

Lady use to whine before eating her food. No more!

    By on

I was buying expensive brands for her, (Husky/Border Collie) but she whined & cried for quite some time before eating. I didn't realize just how much it was bothering her stomach. She was craving grass, not a good sign, & experiencing diarrhea & gas. I received an email about another brand, whose name I've forgotten, but learned that the added preservatives may have been the problem. Now she's excitedly waiting for me to put her dish down! We both love it!
