Start by mixing 25% new food with 75% of the current formula. Slowly change the proportions over the next 3 days or so by gradually increasing the new food and lessening the amount of the current food. At the end of the weaning process, you should be feeding 100% of the new food.

We changed dog food due to one of our male dogs weight gain. You always are concerned about all of your dogs refusing to eat something new.... oh they just love it ! Seem more active as well.

Low calorie food!

So happy to find a lower calorie over the counter food for my large dog. He is getting close to 100lbs and really needs to be 90lbs. He's been on prescription diets before but they are so expensive. Happy to find a cost effective alternative. Not as low calorie as the prescription diet but it's better than regular dog food which was making him fat because: old dog = slow metabolism. But now I can continue to feed him 3 cups a day instead of cutting him back to 2 cups a day. Which would have made us both sad. Happy dog, happy owner!

We changed Clarence's food because his was on the list of foods causing heart problems. His did not have any of the ingredients that were suspicious, but since he is a golden he already has a tendency for cancer, we figured he didn't need any chance for heart problems. We ordered large breed weight control and he seems to love it. He looks slimmer and I think his fur and skin look better.

Our dog weighs 97# with no table scraps. Our vet suggested we put him on a weight controlled food. He loves it! We're still in the process of mixing the new Iams food with his old Ian's food so hopefully this does the trick!
