Transition Instructions

Introduce the new food gradually. This is the most successful way to ease your cat into the diet change. Start by mixing 25% new food with 75% current food. Slowly change the proportions over the next three days or so by gradually increasing the amount of new food and decreasing the amount of current food. At the end of this weaning process, you should be feeding 100% of the new food. You may encounter difficulties; for example, your cat might choose to eat only the old food, or not eat at all. However, a healthy cat can miss meals for a day or two with no ill effects.

Something was wrong with this food. My auto ship came in July. I have two cats- one which didnt mind it but seemed apathetic about it, another that I didnt realize wasnt eating much at all. For months I started supplementing with more wet food because I noticed my older cat was losing weight. Two vet visits and blood work was normal. I went to the pet store and picked up something else and now they seem excited to eat again as soon as I poured out new food. I was recommended to switch to this by Chewy staff after a prior IAMS line was no longer being made. I am concerned with the quality received with this last order.

  • Happy Kitty's

Our felines had been dining on IAMS Multi-Cat Salmon and Chicken for 10 years. When the item disappeared from the shelves, I looked for a Multi-Cat replacement. With the new food, the kitty's seemed to say, "What's up with the food?" Clearly not interested. Decided to look for Salmon and Chicken (forget the multi-cat) and found this IAMS. Instant romance with the new IAMS!! Food dish refills are now the norm! Happy Kitty's!!

I originally bought this particular brand from a pet store for my stray cats I feed at work and they loved it. So I decided for the first time to order from Chewy My friend at work (already a customer of Chewy) also feeds the stray cats so I suggested she purchase the same food for them. So she also ordered this particular brand from Chewy. To my surprise, the cats were not eating the Iams dry food (from Chewy) my friend was putting out for the cats, but they were eating the same brand noted above of Iams dry food I was leaving out for them that I purchased from the pet store. So we compared both foods from Chewy and the pet store and found they were different, however packaged in the same I originally bought this particular brand from a pet store for my stray cats I feed at work and they loved it. So we compared both foods from Chewy and the pet store and found they were different, however packaged in the same exact packaging from Iams. The food looked different in color and smelled different. So now I was ready to open the bag of dry I purchased from Chewy and found it also to be different in color and smell from the bag I originally purchased from the pet store. This brand of food was not inexpensive, and now I have a bag of dry cat food (and my friend also in same predicament) that the cats won’t eat. It is convenient to have the pet food delivery, however, I’m a little reluctant now to reorder since, not only did I find the food from Chewy not the same quality as the pet store, but also the food my friend ordered from Chewy was not the same pet store quality either, and it was supposed to be from the same manufacturer. … more

  • Somethign was wrong with this bag

I have ordered this before and also buy it in stores and my cats love it. But this time, I noticed an odd smell when I poured it into the bin I use- almost plastic-y. I tried and my cats wont eat it. of course the time I buy a huge bag. Wondering if there were any other people with this issue. I want my cats to have the high protein and Iams is priced well but I am scared to order again.

Iams proactive health protein chicken and salmon cat food disappears right along with the favorites. I like switching it up introducing new choices every month but when i consistently see the bottom of the bowl then that one is a keeper. Iams is in the top three so thanks Iams good job!

  • Iams high protein

My cats love this flavor including my 3 new kittens. They all need more protein anyway. I will start getting a bigger size if possible because it usually arrives several days later than the other items I order.

Cat friends know how fussy they can be. Well my cats have rated this highly because one of a few foods they all seem to agree on.

It's hard to find cat food that both of my cats will eat. This makes them both happy and I like that it has high protein.
