INCEPTION IS A HEALTY FOOD WITH OVER 70 PERCENT PROTIEN FROM ANIMALS, AND IT HAS HEALTHT GRAINS. MY DOGS LOVE IT, NOT TO MUCH PROTIEN, ITS HARD TO FIND A TOP DOG FOOD WITH LESS THAN 30 PERCENT PROTIEN AND LESS THAN 15 PERCENT FAT.
I have a dog That is allergic to almost every food on the market! Not only had her allergy tested, but there's only one food that works with her, without her being miserable. I used to have to give her medication for her allergies but ever since we've been using the inception chicken flavor dry dog food, she has a whole lot happier and her allergies are at a minimum. She is still allergic to other things, but this is one wonderful dog food that she can eat!
I bought this for my Aussie because she needed to gain some more weight and this seemed to have good ingredients and higher calorie content than similar foods for the price. After slowly transitioning her to this food she immediately got constant diarrhea which I remedied with some probiotic powder and pumpkin to settle her stomach. However, after I upped the percentage of inception in her diet the issue came back as well as her throwing up all over my house until she had nothing left but stomach bile. She does tend to have quite a sensitive stomach so I chalked it up to that and gave my friend the remainder since she owns a lab who has a iron stomach and can eat just about anything without upset. That is anything but this food because a day or two later her dog was having diarrhea constantly all over the house and that lasted for days even after she stopped feeding the food. Thankfully Chewy is great and fully refunded the food but I also contacted Inception to let them know there was clearly something wrong with the batch. They tried to blame it on transport and say that the food must have smelt or looked spoiled which it clearly didn’t or both my friend and I would obviously not have fed it to our dogs. They claimed nothing was wrong with their food and seemed to not care how horribly sick it made 2 dogs. I was hoping they would issue some sort of recall since I provided pictures of the bag and batch info. Instead their solution was to do nothing and send me a coupon for a free bag of any recipe of their food which I told them I would never be purchasing again after seeing how miserable both dogs were from just small amount of it. In conclusion, Chewy is great and I will never stop buying from them but Inception does not seem to care about their customer, human or canine, and either has horrible food or a major issue with a batch they refuse to acknowledge.
Love this food. It has none of the things I don't want for my dog (corn, potatoes, legumes, soy) but is 70% protein. The one month this food was in back order, we switched to a different food and his coat got dry and his skin itchy. Now that he's back on Inception, he's back to normal. We also use the Fish formula. You can switch flavors of this brand very easily. Highly recommend
I ordered the chicken flavored big bag of inception. They were on it for 3 months. The first month was great. Sadly by the 2nd month it caused all of my dogs diarrhea. At first I thought it was a stomach virus being passed around with them so I gave them all rice until their stomachs were better. Then by the 3rd month when I put them back on the dog food it started all over again. This time they were vomiting & had the worst smelling farts. One of my dogs were even pooping bloody stool. I definitely don’t recommend this dog food at all. This happened to all 3 of my dogs & they are all different breeds. A Dalmatian, a pit bull, & a beagle. This definitely wasn’t a coincidence or a stomach virus like I thought.
My pups must all have sensitive stomachs or this food is too rich for them. They have not hade a solid stool in 2 weeks. I had to quit feeding them the Inception and find another dogfood that would not upset their stomachs.
I recently adopted a second Husky. He didn't like the food I was currently feeding my other dog. I opened a new bag, he didn't like that food either. He immediately started eating this food. Love the ingredients, and I love that it helps maintain their weight. I've had other dog foods with the same calorie content that seem to put the pounds on my female. I saw another comment about somebody saying how it smelled. I don't really notice any smell coming from the food unless my nose is right on the food. If you get a bad smelling bag, likely you got a bad bag.
I wanted to really like this dog food. I liked the ingredients however it doesn’t smell good. My dog isn’t much a picky eater but it’s hard to get her to eat this. How is this suppose to entice my dog to eat when I don’t even enjoy opening the food container? I can’t explain the smell but it doesn’t smell appetizing. I will be switching dog food brands.
I originally went with what vet recommended - but upon doing research on-line - tedious - have to read many, many articles to ultimately figure out optimal choice. (Best lists and vet recommendations appear to be influenced ($) by the companies that make the food.) I feel pretty good about this because the first ingredient is chicken. It has no meat by-products. And it has none of the following ingredients my research revealed NOT to feed your dog: wheat, corn, soy, potato, sweet potato, beets, peas or legumes. Also, it has no artificial flavoring, coloring or preservatives. Plus - my dog really likes it!
Our Dog loves this food and it is very healthy for him.
