    Good ingredients, poor taste

    By on

I love the ingredients and I bought this to give my cat some variety but he will barely touch the stuff. My cat is a fatty so he usually eats his food fairly fast but often leaves this flavor sitting there. There was also white poweder on top of each loaf.

    My Cats Love Instinct Original

    By on

My husband and I have had a hard time feeding our cats food that they like. And food that is of high-quality, grain-free and nutritious as well. Instinct Original, to my surprise, is what they really like. We smile every morning when we see their little faces gobbling up Instinct in their bowls.

I had my doubts, but it's a winner!

    By on

I have to say I didn't think my cats would like this one, but it's actually become one of their favorites! It is a little dry compared to the other varieties that Instinct offers, but if my picky eater likes it, it stays! :)

    All kitties chow down

    By on

I have not seen the beef recipe in stores lately & Chewy has them for me! ALL four of our cats love this beef pate. I do add a little water to the can as it is a little dry. The larger can is a good amount for one feeding and keeps their little kitty mouths busy and happy for awhile. I'm impressed that all of them consistently love the beef since often 1 or 2 of them will occasionally reject a wet food I present them with. They also have had healthier stool after eating this once daily for about a week (I feed them other wet foods also throughout the day and leave out Nature's Variety dry food for them to graze on).

    Disappointed

    By on

I'm sure this is a wonderful, high quality food. The ingredient list is remarkable and safe! However, nearly half of the cans I opened up had food in it that was covered in a thick white "slime" type layer, with white "dots" (particles?) on the outer layers (top and bottom) of the food. I also found dark green chunks throughout the food that looked different from the peas. I don't remember if there are peas in this formula, but these things definitely weren't peas. Sadly, this problem has been happening to the last handful of orders of wet cat food I've ordered from Chewy. I ordered American Journey food and it smelled absolutely rotten, had a completely red center and inner layer. This Nature's I'm sure this is a wonderful, high quality food. This Nature's Variety Instinct brand, the American Journey brand and the Whole Earth Farms brand seem to have poor quality control within the last 6 months. Some batches we get look great/as they should, while others look rancid and laden with mystery "material," "chunks," "dots," scent and color...... Hopefully this gets resolved soon. We love Chewy ): … more

    A little dry

    By on

I bought this and the chicken one. The cats prefer the chicken. Beef is a little dry and I notice the ash on the top of the meat when I open the can. Cats like it though and eat every bit of it. Just not as eagerly as the chicken type.

    No more stinky kitty

    By on

I have one kitty who cannot eat poultry without getting VERY stinky, and another who doesn’t like fish. So, beef it is. Both cats love the Instinct!

    He'd kill a cow

    By on

But since he is a "convict kitty" and can't go outside, he has to be content with the Instinct Real Beef Recipe...and he is very content. Tried to eat the bowl after the food was gone.

    The Cat’s Meow

    By on

My feline fur babies love this food. I have tried a number of different canned cat foods which are represented to be meat with no grain. I am very pleased with Instinct.

    Maybe my cats are spoiled

    By on

My cats like NV canned but no matter how much I dress up the beef, they refuse to eat it. They will completely go without eating rather than eat this flavor. I have a half case I'm going to have to donate because my brats are picky.
