About Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Dog Food

Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Dog Food

The ingredient list is purposefully simple for pets with food sensitivities. It focuses on one animal protein and one vegetable—versus the mix of each you'll find in most pet foods.

Sometimes what's not included is just as important as what is. These recipes are made with grass-fed meat or cage-free poultry and always made without grain, dairy, eggs, potato, corn, wheat, soy or artificial ingredients.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw—raising the bar in nutrition and taste.

The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does

Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand

It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.

Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.

Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.

Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with Best Friends Animal Society, they're furthering the no-kill movement and their shared mission of transforming and saving the lives of pets.

Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

All pets deserve food that's real, nutrient-rich, grain-free and natural. That's why Instinct provides over one million meals annually to the dogs and cats at Best Friends Animal Society adoption centers nationwide. Because what we feed them can make all the difference. Here "we" refers to the pet parent, not Instinct.

About Instinct

Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

  • Hmm, well it's a mixed blessing

    By on

My adopted puppy has food allergies. Instinct's "Limited Ingredient Diet" seems to work'ok' but she's not real interested in it. However, it keeps her from itching. I also give her Instinct's raw lamb. I wish I could order this or best of all Primal's raw CHICKEN (one of the few raw dog food offerings that isn't pasteurized...yes Instincts is pasteurized too..:(( ---also other Primal raw foods are reportedly pasteurized) sorry for getting off the topic but pet raw foods have a way to go, although Chewy's does its part in helping us get what is available & being generous in their refunds. Go Chewy's !!

  • Sigh...my English Bulldog does better on this than Fromm

    By on

I am a hobby breeder of English Bulldogs and I’ve tried many foods! Most of my Bulldogs aren’t super sensitive, but one of them definitely is!! If I don’t use this food, he gets infections and he itches like mad. Tried soooo many foods (he’s been allergy tested) and this is the one. Switching back from Fromm grain free.

  • Seems like good kibbles

I fed my Husky Orijen up until the formula change and plant move! It took me almost a year to find a good food she loves that I felt good about. Now no more Fromm from Chewy! I am thinking on trying this. I am so tired of switching foods. Chewy has been wonderful helping me. I think I will try this food mixed-up with Primal Raw.. Chewy you Rock!!

  • My Frenchie, Lilo, loves it!

I have a incontinent French bulldog puppy that has serious allergies. This is the only food that agrees with her sensitive tummy. I have tried this flavor and the Salmon flavor and she loves them both.

  • Glad I changed brand

    By on

I wanted to continue with chewy. It's a very good company with great prices. So when they discontinued my brand I switched to instinct which is a top rated dog food. My dogs love it and it's a good quality food.

  • The poopers love it!

    By on

The food apparently is very tasty, if the dogs can be trusted in their judgment. The small pieces forces them to slow down in their eating, which is nice. However, the smaller pieces also lead them into burning through it faster than other foods and they seem hungry sooner. But, could that just might be them anticipating the tasty meal?

  • lots of good ingredients and my dogs love it

    By on

Nature's Variety seems focused on good nutrition. They claim to use meat, veggie and fruit ingredients sourced from the USA which is good, except for lamb, rabbit and the vitamin/mineral packet (a common situation in pet food). I like that they know the difference between "Meat" and "Meal" when it comes to protein percentage. Overall I'm happy with the product. Good website, too.
