About Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Dog Food

Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Dog Food

The ingredient list is purposefully simple for pets with food sensitivities. It focuses on one animal protein and one vegetable—versus the mix of each you'll find in most pet foods.

Sometimes what's not included is just as important as what is. These recipes are made with grass-fed meat or cage-free poultry and always made without grain, dairy, eggs, potato, corn, wheat, soy or artificial ingredients.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw—raising the bar in nutrition and taste.

The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does

Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand

It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.

Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.

Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.

Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with Best Friends Animal Society, they're furthering the no-kill movement and their shared mission of transforming and saving the lives of pets.

Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

All pets deserve food that's real, nutrient-rich, grain-free and natural. That's why Instinct provides over one million meals annually to the dogs and cats at Best Friends Animal Society adoption centers nationwide. Because what we feed them can make all the difference. Here "we" refers to the pet parent, not Instinct.

About Instinct

Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

  • Great Product

    By on

My dog likes this one better then the other brand called Wild Calling Rabbit. I also like this one because it does not have dumb chemicals like the Wild Calling Rabbit formula. Not sure why they have to put Guar Gum, Xanthum. Makes no sense. No ones cares how we eat anymore. Dogs get cancer just like us for a reason

  • Picky eaters

    By on

I have two small dogs. Both are picky eaters so I am always looking for something new for them. One liked the rabbit recipe okay but was not wild over it. The other would not touch it. Not sure that I would order it again.

  • Too expensive ...yet good for allergies

    By on

I recently changed my little dog's diet because of allergies. I really like this food but was taken back at how overpriced it is! Then I dug around and found it $10 cheaper for a case of 6! I love Chewy's but will be contacting them about why they have marked this up so much when you can get it waaaaaaaaayyyyyy more cost effective elsewhere!-(even then it's still spendy).... Price affected my rating!

  • Pricey but worth it...

    By on

My senior 13 year old dog has become allergic or intolerant to beef, lamb, venison, and poultry...this Instinct Rabbit is now his favorite food...he will eat it alone...and occasionally I mix it with a good dry salmon and sweet potatoe dog food...or rice, vegetables and fish from our table...he's a very good old dog and I am thankful this food exists...

  • They love this !

FINALLY! Vet had us switch to a single protein because of skin problems , after they rejected the salmon we thought -“rabbit is a logical food for dogs” so we gave it a try and -yes! Success.

  • high quality

    By on

instinct is great as rotation diet. we use the duck and the rabbit canned routinely when we are out of raw. i particularly like the consistency of this food. i don't like the chunks in gravy or the ones that have too much water and are slimy. this one is great consistency and the dogs love it!

  • Recipe Change, Price Increase

    By on

Got a call this morning from Chewy that my 12 pack was repackaged and now came in 6 pack. Basically the recipe has changed, I just compared my can to this new, $1.50 a can more. New recipe does not have pork liver, no fruits or vegetables as before. Went ahead and accepted the change this order, but if they don't like it, back to the drawing board. Endless cycle of changing their diet. They've enjoyed this almost 2 years, a staple!
