Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Original by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw — raising the bar in nutrition and taste.

The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does

Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand

It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.

Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.

Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.

Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with Best Friends Animal Society, they're furthering the no-kill movement and their shared mission of transforming and saving the lives of pets.

Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

All pets deserve food that's real, nutrient-rich, grain-free and natural. That's why Instinct provides over one million meals annually to the dogs and cats at Best Friends Animal Society adoption centers nationwide. Because what we feed them can make all the difference. Here "we" refers to the pet parent, not Instinct.

About Instinct

Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

  • My Five Cats Plus Ferals Hate This Food

    By on

I tried to switch my cats to a healthy diet, but this was such a huge fail. None of my five cats would eat it unless they were starving and have nothing left to eat. So after two weeks of mixing it with their old food and having them reject it every time, I gave it to my feral cats. I also mixed it with their old food. They ate their old food and left behind all the new food. I kept doing that for a month and they still left all this "healthy" food. It's so disappointing. Usually my five cats plus ferals would already finish this tiny bag. But not with this food. Will not buy again.

  • Glad I found this

    By on

I dislike science diets very much so when my vet wanted my cat on Royal Canin selected protein rabbit I tried instinct natures variety rabbit with raw pieces and she wouldnt eat it. I ordered this and she eats it every day! So glad I finally found something thats not science diet that she will eat so I can start her towards the path of a real cats diet like my other kitties! Thank you chewy for all your options.

  • Ferrets like it

    By on

My ferrets have a bad habit of kicking food all over the place. They are messy. My dog eats the food off the floor but she is allergic to ferret food. Therefore, I decided to try a high quality cat food that doesn't have chicken. (Hoping this is a happy medium for my dog and ferrets. Supposedly this is one of the highest rated dry cat foods for ferrets.)

  • rescue cat loves

I rescued a Norwegian Forest Cat from our local shelter. She came with a partial bag of Instinct cat food and I had a partial bag of my kitties food. I tried to mix them and she picked out the Instinct kibbles. She is overweight so we are really struggling with her amount of food day to day, but she loves the food.

  • Sub~Parrbit!

    By on

At first the cats appeared to like this, then after second day I noticed the bowl was still half full. . . Now they simply walk by as the youngest tries to bury it? I'll donate it to the local shelter along with some wet food I purchased at a discount. This was a substitute for the usual rabbit I buy.

The jury is still out. Need to give Bella, my 2 year old cat, more time to warm up to this new food.

We have 10 cats and all the cats love it. No digestive problem for changing cat food from another to this one.

  • Winner with my four cats!!

    By on

My cats eat mostly wet food but they enjoy a little bit of dry food before bedtime. The only dry food brands they are allowed to have are Farmina, Nature's Logic and Nature's Variety Instinct. This was the first time they tried the rabbit formula. All four seemed to enjoy it, I would definitely buy this one again!!

  • Sometimes He Likes It, Sometimes No

I buy this for my cat's variety. Often served alone he turns off it. I mix it with other kibbles for best response.
