My little boy just loves the Instinct salmon wet food. He used to eat beef and chicken but now he will only eat the salmon. Go figure! Instinct is the only food that doesn't have fillers in it. He is alergic to chicken and it was really hard trying to find cat food that didn't have some kind of chicken by product in it that he liked. Thank you Chewy for carrying Instinct brand.

  • Quality Product But Rejected by Gang of Four

    By on

I have four particularly finicky cats that just don’t like the texture of paté. I keep trying new flavors and different brands to no avail. If your cat likes salmon and will eat paté then try this high-quality food. I’m on the hunt for options, as one of the cats is allergic to chicken, turkey and duck!

  • So many bones in the can

    By on

While my cat is still eating it, I am not a fan of the new formula for her at all - too juicy and too many small bones. I'm switching it out - tired of worrying about her eating the bones.

  • Great food

    By on

I have a 14yr old pampered Persian that is very picky and recovering from gallbladder surgery. The salmon and rabbit instinct are the only foods he likes and does not make him sick.

  • Good stuff if you can afford it

    By on

From what I've read and observed this is very high quality food. FWIIW, the 'high quality' food my vet sold me increased the weight of the litter box wastes by about 60%, a sure sign of crap food -- Friskies level. The can has a high amount of liquid, presumable fish oil. The reason I rate it 4, not 5, is because my cats only LIKE it and don't LOVE it.

  • My cats do not like this food.

    By on

When I first opened a can of this wet food, my cats ate a small amount of it, but after that they have snubbed their noses up at it. I have not given them any since. I plan to try again to see if they will eat any. Maybe tomorrow morning. This food is expensive and I was terribly disappointed that they don't seem to like it.

  • Isabelle likes it!

    By on

I bought this canned food for my cat Isabelle. I am very sorry picky on what I feed her. I like the ingredients in this food. No menidone, that is important to me. It took her a couple of days to start eating it. She doesn't like the few peas and carrots in it, so I take those out for her.

  • For our Birmans, Instinct is the Way to Go

    By on

Both this salmon pate and their chicken pate are huge hits with our cats. They shove each other to get to their favored position and then the race is on. It’s been a while since our kitties ate with this much gusto. Hopefully Instinct will maintain their formula for this line.

  • Cats love it

    By on

I recently changed my cats canned food selections to remove carrageenan from their diet. I feed them mostly chicken formulas, but added this canned salmon formula to give them a little variety. They love it and I feel better knowing the ingredients are a better choice for them.

  • Definite Winner!

    By on

Our senior cat is ill and, sadly, hasn't long to live. In order to get her to eat more, we tried this Instinct Grain-Free Salmon Formula, and for us, it's definitely worth the expense -- she loves it. The consistency (paté) also makes it easy for us to mix her medicine into it.
