If any digestive upset or loose stool occurs, make the transition more gradual. It is a good idea to allow your pet's digestive system to calm down and return to normal before proceeding.

  • Kitten eats it but...

    By on

My kitten loves the Instinct brand canned food, but he's less thrilled about these nuggets. That's not to say he won't eat it, because he will, but sometimes he needs some encouragement from the other cat in the house (i.e. if the other cat starts to eat it). I purchased for the nutrition benefits (regular store-bought dry food severely inflames my poor kitten's mouth) and because it's not as smelly as canned food, but maybe that's why my kitten is less interested? Perhaps re-hydrating with a cat-safe chicken broth would make it more appetizing? I'll see how he takes to it after a week or so, I might have to switch back to the Instinct canned variety. • Finally a solution to food allergies

    By on

I got my kitten when she was 4 months, she'll be one year next week. I've tried probably 6 or 7 different foods and all gave her digestive and skin issues. She's been on this food fully for 5 days now and it is the first she has had normal digestion! Skin is clearing! Fur is softer! Kitty VERY HAPPY. And she is absolutely nuts about the taste too! I didn't want to have to go raw because my cat and I travel often, so this is a perfect solution!

  • These make great treats too!

    By on

I actually don't use this the way it is intended. Rather, my cats are insane for this as a treat. I just break off a tiny corner and give it to them. More than once two of my cats got into my cupboard, found these, and ate most of the bag!

  • Expensive but the cats go bonkers for it!

I have 3 hybrids and they all really enjoy this cat food! My Savannah likes it so much he practically attacks me like a wild animal when he sees me get the bag. I like the fact that their waste smells less with this food than with kibble.

My 2, 8 and 1 yr. Old felines wouldn't touch it. Even after only giving them this type of food for 2 days, my cat's wouldn't eat it. Gave it to my neighbor for his dog. Eats them like treats...

  • My little nugget LOVES these nuggets

    By on

I've been trying to transition my boys to a raw diet with limited success. That is until I found Instinct's freeze dried nuggets. The immediately loved them so much so, that I have to hide the bag or they will break it open. It's simple to use, just add some water and serve. I use it along with wet food. Excellent ingredients and my boys are happy. Highly recommended

  • My cat loves this food

    By on

I have never seen my cat dive into food like this before, She is eating it before I can even add the water. I mix this food with 1/2 can of Instinct chicken and she goes to town eating. If my cat is happy then so am I. Thank you Instinct, and thank you Chewy.com for stocking this item.

  • Please make rabbit the next flavor in this line

    By on Top 250 Contributor

My cats eat this but they ignore any really large pieces or tiny crumbs, which means much of it gets ignored, since crumbling this ends up with most of this as crumbs. I'm also not crazy about given my allergy-prone cats chicken, but we've been at wit's end since Instinct got rid of the freeze-dried rabbit meal. I don't mean the mixer mini-bites; those are treats. We depended on the freeze dried rabbit meals as something healthier than kibble that we could leave out overnight or when being home most of the day. Rabbit has been our go-to protein that both cats could eat without having some kind of allergic or digestive reaction. Sorry that I'm using this page to voice my protest over the My cats eat this but they ignore any really large pieces or tiny crumbs, which means much of it gets ignored, since crumbling this ends up with most of this as crumbs. Sorry that I'm using this page to voice my protest over the discontinuation of the freeze-dried meals (that were the same size as the mini-bite treats, but contained vitamins/minerals that the treats don't). If you offer this product in a rabbit version, I guess even these crumbly biscuits are still better than nothing, since the freeze-dried rabbit meals were discontinued. Please offer something for those who have cats with allergies & want to avoid chicken (& turkey). We love the new rabbit flavor of the ultimate protein canned food. Now give us a freeze-dried option for raw rabbit meals. Thanks. … more
