LEAD WITH RAW
It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.
KEEP IT REAL
Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.
MAKE IT SIMPLE
Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.
DO IT TOGETHER
Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with local shelters and volunteer efforts nationwide we’re on a mission to transform the lives of all pets.
MAKE IT BETTER
Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

About Instinct
Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. Great food, not great price
By Ursina on Feb 11, 2021
This food has been the easiest way to feed raw when you’re skeptical about feeding raw. It’s 100% nutrition for your pup and they love the crunchiness when it’s still frozen. the only thing is that it is more expensive on chewy than in my local pet store. the only reason i continue purchasing it through chewy is their awesome customer service and the fact it gets delivered. they were able to give a 10% discount on my next shipment but it would be even more convenient if they price matched my local pet store.

Amazing Dog food.
By Courtney on Dec 29, 2020
I loved this dog food for Thor. I bought the freeze-dried dog food mixed with the raw coated kibble first. Then I noticed that Thor would only pick out the freeze dried part. SO, I went on the hunt and found this. Though the 6lb bag does not last long (I feed my dog 2x a day 1.5-2 cups per meal). He gobbled it up and loved it. We kept the trend with the medallions only feeding him 2 medallions at a meal. He loved them (see my review on their medallions :) ). This one turned that same icky brown color as he sometimes doesn't eat right away. I'd put it in the fridge and it would turn out that way as well (occasionally, not all the time). I assume it was my schedule with work and him not wanting I loved this dog food for Thor. I bought the freeze-dried dog food mixed with the raw coated kibble first. There are a lot of juices in the food and you will get a brown juice if you leave it out too long. Overall, this food was a hit with my pup, but I will have to be searching for a food that will fit our overall schedule and his eating habits to last longer! :) … more

New favorite
By Marilyn on Dec 30, 2020
I have been feeding my Yorkie, Jay, a very good raw dog food for two years. He has always loved it. I ordered Instinct Raw Real Beef Recipe for some variety. I mixed them half and half. Jay gobbled up the Instinct and left his usual food in the bowl, only eating it later when he saw he wasn’t getting more Instinct. The next day I put the Instinct on the bottom and his usual food on top. He dug the Instinct out, ate it, and left his other food in the bowl, eating it later like before. He barks at me begging for more Instinct dog food. So, it looks like Jay has a new dog food! I’m mixing Jay’s old food into my Border Collie’s food. The quality of both foods is very good, and the Instinct I have been feeding my Yorkie, Jay, a very good raw dog food for two years. He has always loved it. My dogs love it
By Brandi on Jan 26, 2021
I researched and read thru many reviews before switching and I am glad I did. My dogs absolutely love it. I love that it is delivered to my door each week, packaged very well. I have bought from local stores and it appeared the food was thawed and refrozen but when I get it from chewy it is fresh.

Convenience
By Abcdef on Jan 15, 2021
Having the auto order is a big convenience with multiple dogs. It's also somewhat difficult in our area to find this food where it hasn't been already thawed and refrozen multiple times. When it comes from Chewey, as soon as you open the bag you know it has not been refrozen : )

Picky dog?....Great product!
By Starfish on Jan 7, 2021
Our French Bulldog is extremely fussy when it comes to eating. We've tried 4-5 foods over the last few years, and then we found Instinct Raw. Our dog took to it immediately. With the amazing ingredient list, I am definitely a fan and we will reorder.

Not recommended for picky eaters!
By Charlie86 on Nov 11, 2020
I had high hopes for this product. My elderly Husky stopped eating and have been delving into raw to help prolongue her comfort of life and aid with recovery from a spinal injury and various aches and pains. I should have known from the start that things would not go well. This flavor does not smell good at all. I tried to hide it over wet, dry, freeze dried, and supplement toppers and finally gave up. Not recommended for picky eaters. Chewy does an excellent job packing and shipping this item, but what benefits will you get if your dog won't come close to it. She slightly eats Dr. Marty's and loves Chicken Stella and Chewy's, but trying to hide it under those items was a waste. It gives I had high hopes for this product. I love the product but
By Jazz on Feb 24, 2021
One of my packages was split open and the pellets were all over the dry ice in the box. 1/3 to 1/2 bag ruined

My dogs loved it
By Robyn on Jan 23, 2021
My dogs love this. I did learn that taking it out same day to defrost was a pain, I put some in a container the night before and leave it in the fridge, by morning its ready to serve.

Mushy and a hassle
By Tess on Nov 9, 2020
This product needs to stay frozen and each single serving is supposed to be held at room temperature until thawed and ready to be consumed. It says it defrosts in a few minutes, but it took close to 20 minutes for it to be soft/correct temperature for my Chihuahuas to eat. My dogs and I became impatient - planning ahead to feed the dogs seems dumb. If it sets out too long (35) minutes, it just turns to mush. One of my dogs declined to eat it. The other ate it as it is similar to wet food he usually eats. Delivery of raw food seems convenient, but it didn't work out for me with this product.
