Not the freeze-dried variety

I ordered this thinking it was the freeze dried variety, so it sat in the box for a few days because the “perishable” sticker they put on one side of the box was obscured by another box and was freakin tiny and easily overlooked. Thanks a lot chewy. So don’t make the mistake thinking it’s another product that in essence has an infinitely long shelf life without refrigeration, and for the love of god chewy put a couple perishable stickers on the box and perhaps something a little larger that draws more attention.

Shar pei need no grain low carbs diet. Instinct raw is the perfect food to go along with dry food. BUT we attempted to get the raw bites in lamb and the frozen chunks which is even better and there is a problem with getting these. I appreciate the hold back due to quality or whatever but will they be available?

Chinese ingredients

I've used this dog food many times in the past, and ordered more, recently. I've always liked it and the dogs seemed to like it after it was thawed out. Recently, I discovered the vitamins and minerals are produced in China!!! I ABSOLUTELY will not feed any food that comes from China to my animals. I will request a refund and continue buying from Honest kitchen and Health Extension, since they are human grade and NOTHING is sourced from China. It's beyond me, why Instinct company would produce an excellent product, only to ruin it using anything sourced from China.

For the third time this shipment has arrived with the dry ice gone and thawed. I gave them another chance as I like the product. It was supposed to take three days, It took four. I have learned my lesson.

High quality food in an easy to dispense size

I have a smaller size Terrier mix dog and wanted to give him the best quality raw food possible. With Instinct Frozen Raw Bites I have finally found it and the fact that it is frozen in small bites instead of a bigger chunk makes it a lot easier to provide him the correct amount without having to defrost it first.

This raw product may be good for other doggies, but my Shih Tzu & Havanese didn't like it raw. So I had to nuke it for about 3 mins then serve it with brown rice & they hesitantly ate it. A 3 star rating is not because is bad, is just not for my pets. It was my 1st time purchasing and personally I would not buy again.

I was very optimistic about this food. My previous purchase of a different brand gave my dogs diarrhea for a week and a half so I knew I had to fix that. I found these ordered 2 6 lb bags. They came nicely packaged. I was impressed. The problem lies when it defrosts. It turns into a gelatinous goop. The nuggets don’t hold their shape. So I am discontinuing my food search on chewy and going to go to one of the fresh pet coolers and buy my food there.
