1 ANIMAL PROTEIN
The ingredient list is purposefully simple for pets with food sensitivities. It focuses on one animal protein and one vegetable—versus the mix of each you'll find in most pet foods.

SIMPLE AND ESSENTIAL
Sometimes what's not included is just as important as what is. Our recipes are made with cage-free poultry or farm-raised rabbit and always made without grain, dairy, eggs, potato, corn, wheat, soy or artificial ingredients.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece
They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw—raising the bar in nutrition and taste.
The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does
Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand
LEAD WITH RAW
It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.
KEEP IT REAL
Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.
MAKE IT SIMPLE
Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.
DO IT TOGETHER
Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with local shelters and volunteer efforts nationwide we’re on a mission to transform the lives of all pets.
MAKE IT BETTER
Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

About Instinct
Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

Switched from prescription with success
By Tess on Feb 21, 2021
Was using Royal Canin selected protein rabbit (I chose rabbit because it seems like the most environmentally friendly/sustainable option), and slowly introduced the rabbit Instinct LE food. I think my cat prefers it to RC, I think because it's juicier. No signs of an upset stomach, it's a great product!

This is good food, if you can afford it
By Betsy on Feb 3, 2021
My vet suggested this food for my vomiting cat who might be allergic to poultry and/or seafood. We transitioned slowly. She loves it. I will stay with it even if it doesn’t resolve her tummy issues. The pate is compact, and I like the small cans: half in a.m., half in p.m., fresh can next a.m.

McGinnis loves rabbit
By McGinnis on Feb 22, 2021
McGinnis is happily chowing down his rabbit pate. I don't think he knows that wild lynx catch and eat rabbit almost exclusively. He enjoys wild caught salmon treats, too. But he prefers his rabbit pate to fill his tummy.

High quality
By Ruth on Jan 2, 2021
One of my cats has intestinal inflammation and has to be on a limited ingredient diet, so i bought this food for her and she absolutely loves it. I can see by looking at it that it is not a "cheap" food. The consistency is very good and uniform thru each can. i highly recommend this food if your cat has to be on a protein that is not "common", for example chicken or fish or has any type of inflammatory issues. It is expensive but well worth it.

My cats like this food most of the time
By mariao on Feb 12, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
The ingredients seem wholesome for a cat, it does have approximately 3 whole peas in every 3oz can, but the cats just eat around them. I feel this is a good food for sensitive stomachs, but sometimes cats can be finicky with this food.

My cat loves this food!
By Bustersfavorite on Jan 5, 2021
I've tried all the best brands and recipes of cat food over the years. My cat absolutely loves this one. I like the idea of limited ingredients and have done the fresh route before. This is as close as it gets to grinding up your own rabbits except they add all the essential vitamins and nutrients my cat needs. If your cat gets burnt out on chicken and turkey give this one a try.

Zero out of 4 cats approve.
By 4Kitties on Jan 9, 2021
I was looking for an alternative to Tiki Cat now that they use synthetic vitamin K, but none of our 4 cats will eat this. They ate it once and wouldn't touch it again. I also tried the salmon and they wouldn't touch it at all. I love that it's healthy ingredients but that doesn't do any good if they won't eat it.

She loves it (minus the peas! ) though I feed her mostly raw rabbit.
By missthing on Nov 23, 2020
It's very challenging to find high quality limited ingredient rabbit canned cat food which is the only protein my kitty doesn't seem to be allergic to. I feed her lots of raw rabbit but always have some Instinct Rabbit for variety . She loves the Koha canned rabbit but it's extremely high in phosphorus which is terrible for cat's kidneys. And if she wasn't allergic to lamb I'd feed her the Ziwi Peak Rabbit and Lamb. I don't think there's a better quality canned cat food out there because they include organs and bone and they source from New Zealand. Feline Natural does as well but they don't have rabbit. There are other good quality rabbit canned cat foods from Identity, Hound and Gatos etc It's very challenging to find high quality limited ingredient rabbit canned cat food which is the only protein my kitty doesn't seem to be allergic to. Excellent product
By Tumbleweed on Jan 27, 2021
My cat loves this. For a few days, it seemed to keep him from shedding but then he started again. We still feed him the rabbit recipe, though, because he looks forward to it and the ingredients are all good.

Very yummy limited protein!
By Vicki on Jan 9, 2021
This is healthy and good for my cat on a limited diet. He can only have dry hydrolyzed food but needs some wet food for addition of supplements. He likes this and can get his necessary additives while not upsetting his system.
