Good quality food that my cat won't eat
My cat Pants is elderly, underweight, and has a whole host of health problems compounded by being a very picky eater. She's been on Royal Canin PR for a long time, but she started losing weight again last fall, so I've been trying to find something else that agrees with her angry tummy. After some trial and error, she seems to prefer rabbit to other novel proteins, so Instinct Limited Ingredient Rabbit seemed like a great option. Initially after the switch, she devoured it, and started gaining weight. So I switched my autoship to this food and ordered two cases of it. Pants then changed her mind and decided she doesn't like the Instinct, barely ate it, and started losing weight. I just switched back to the PR, which she's eating happily. I don't get it at all. The Instinct must be good for angry tummies, since she tolerated it well and initially started gaining weight. Nothing happened to put her off it, she's not having any symptoms that suggest it doesn't agree with her. The Instinct looks and smells better than the PR. If I were a cat, I'd go for the Instinct. But I am not a cat.
Bones and Peas
Not sure about the quality control on this wet food. The pate contains multiple whole peas as well as what appears to be bone fragments! Can is also not fully filled. I’m surprised by the 4-5 star reviews and wonder if they are getting completely different cans somehow. This stuff cost about as much as the Royal Canin equivalent that I get from our vet, but instinct’s is much worse quality.
THANK YOU - Best catfood ever!
My cat developed an allergy to basic catfood. His skin was so irritated that he pulled it all out. My vet suggested hypoallergenic catfood. It was terrible and extremely costly so I researched alternatives. Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet catfood was recommended by numerous vets. More importantly, both my cats LOVE IT. It doesn't smell, it's juicy, and the cats like the dry version, too. All his hair has grown back and he is a happy cat once again!
Cat likes but doesn't love
My cat did seem to like this food but got bored of it very quickly (I also don't think she likes pate, but that's another issue). She seemed to really like the flavor at first and would eat the entire bowl, then slowly just stopped eating it at all. I think this is a great food for cats with allergies (mine is allergic to chicken) but this isn't one of her favorite chicken free foods.
Not sure if successful yet but she loves it!
Have a 9 month old who has had every medical intervention available for chronic diarrhea. I'm trying this to r/o food allergies. She LOVES it! But I have to admit it is one of the nastiest smelling cat foods I've ever experienced in 40 years. But it doesn't matter because she gobbles it up in no time. Previous reviews complaining about peas and bones are questionable...out of 48 cans so far, I've found a couple whole cooked peas per 5.5oz can (no big deal, she eats them) and no bones. If it was less expensive, I'd feed all my cats this food because they all love it.
peas are not ground
There are multiple peas in a 3oz small can. I really wanted to like this because my cat need rabbit meat based food. This is such an expensive limited ingredient food and I feel like I’m paying for unground peas. Not to mention that my cat would not touch such a chunky food.
Rabbit is the Bomb!
My 11 year old furbaby is a rescue from an animal shelter in which she lived for 6 YEARS! She suffers from several issues, one of which is...she inhales her food and while she's slowly coming around to having her feedings monitored she still has a one track mind - for food. This canned rabbit is low in calories and she loves the rabbit even when it's doled out.
Limited Ingredient Food rabbit protein
Great product for sensitive G.I. cats! My boy loves the meal enhancement morsels!!! You are the only supplier that we have found that carries them.
My cat absolutely LOVES this wet food
I will definitely be purchasing this again. He licks his plate clean and it doesn't seem to upset his stomach. No puking! Yay!
Great for pets with immune issues
My cat has severe allergies to many food items and this is the only wet food that doesn't cause him to have an outbreak. The food is very expensive compared to others, but it does work.
