why is the first ingredient turkey meal? What is turkey meal? I was feeding my dog the Instinct chicken brand with no animal meal.

As for by-products, this means the ingredient contains the identified meat, plus some of the internal organs. An example of this would be turkey by-products, which would consist of turkey meat, plus some of the internal organs. As the liver is a good source of iron, these internal organs provide a highly digestible and readily absorbable source of some minerals.
What is with the Montmorillonite Clay?

Montmorillonite clay is a natural anti-caking agent. Which is added to formulas to adsorb excess moisture and help keep the food from clumping. Montmorillonite is also a natural source of minerals and has been reported to contain at least 67 different kinds.
Number of cups in a bag, please? Trying to feed a 40# and 55# dog on one food, puppy is graduating to adult food now!

There will be approximately 4 cups per pound of kibble. The 4 pound bag will have close to 16 cups, the 11 pound bag close to 44 cups and the 22 pound bag close to 88 cups.
Your Claim: Never contains any grain, dairy, eggs, chicken, beef, fish, sweet potato, potato, chickpeas, corn, wheat, soy, artificial colors or preservatives. How can you claim this when Tapioca comes from the sweet potato family?

Tapioca is not the same as a sweet potato. Tapioca is an all-natural ingredient that’s extracted from the root of the cassava plant via a series of washing, peeling, grating, and drying steps, a process that removes any cyanogenic glycosides. It’s a grain-free and gluten-free starch that’s 98% digestible. There are no known allergies to tapioca.

My Saint Bernard finally has solid turds!!!

I’ve only had this food for a month and I’ve noticed a HUGE difference! My 125 lb Saint was constantly getting diarrhea and waking me up through the night and now she’s pooping solid and letting me sleep!! She does get a probiotic as well but I truly believe this is a miracle food for her because she’s pooping a lot less too and getting the nutrients she needs. I’ve gone through so many brands and finally did a food sensitivity test for her and found out she had sensitivities to soy, salmon oil, and eggs which this food does not have! I’m so happy to have found this brand because I was getting sick and tired of hosing down the yard from her diarrhea! Wanted to thank Chewy’s customer service for their help with returning another limited ingredient diet brand that I tried first and when I got the bag it said salmon oil but did not say it on their website. They sent me a bag of Instinct right away and I’m totally hooked! Totally doing the happy dance right now and Remi is thanking me as well!

Loves this!

We always used Instinct Raw brand since Day 1 but recently Tigger started having loose poop and black ear yeast we read reviews about Limited ingredient food for food sensitivity and ordered it with Turkey since he loves Turkey and does well eating raw Turkey necks.The second we opened the bag his head was in it! Gobbled it up from his bowl so fast every time that we switched to a slow feeding bowl. So far poop is normal and ears look good! Worth a try!

Great dry dogfood

My chow has done very well on this flavor of turkey, I was unable to get the lamb for quite a while and was a little worried about how he would handle it. But he has done fine and loves it

My dogs do not like this at all.

I'm sure this is a good product but I should have known better than to get them any kind of kibble food. They have only eaten freeze dried and fresh raw food for over 2 years. I will do my best to use this kibble up mixed in with their raw food. The ingredients look to be very healthy and I wish my dogs would have liked it.

Great Quality Food

We have been feeding this to our dogs for years now. It’s a great quality food that they both have done really well on. We were having a hard time finding the food locally, so I turned to Chewy. It was so nice to have the food delivered right to my door!

Mixed feelings

I really liked this food. E. Bulldog has many allergies. Finally found something that he was ok with. Second bag halfway done and kibble clumps that were molded. Had to go out and buy something else. Expiration was still in date. I don’t think he ate any of that but would you wanna get to the bottom of the cereal bag and find molded clumps. Not really sure if I should try it again.

Instinct LID - kibble

My shelties have had skin and digestive issues for many years. I found that this kibble has exceeded my expectations in this regard. No constipation or loose stools. Skin issues have remained due to autoimmune disease. This kibble makes it easy for them and for me as well. Highly recommended!
