Best on the Market
By Angie on Mar 4, 2021
Original NO, But the Instinct Protein Pate YES! Angel has hyperthyroidism and was losing weight rapidly to the point he went from 14lbs to 9lbs in months. I kicked into gear and did extensive research and found that with hyperthyroidism they need to eat high protein meals..I purchased every kind of food you can think of to help him gain his weight back. Sadly nothing worked. Instinct Protein wet was my last resort, he liked the taste and started gaining weight back, he does eat 4-5 times a day in small portions with his dry.. I am happy to say he is 12.4 lbs now healthy.. I recommend Wet Protein Canned and Dry Protein not the Original ...

Thought he would love, BUT
By Tigger on Mar 14, 2021
First concern, half cans were dented in both cases. Bought one each on sale chicken & salmon. Have a semi ferral cat. Thought based on company name and ingredients, he would like. Nothing doing. At first if I left it down long enough, he'd eat it. Kept stopping and retrying between other brands and homemade. By the last half of cases, even putting out for racoons & oppossums (sp?) etc. wouldn't eat! Are the 50% off offers based on food you're having trouble selling? Requiring purchase of $50 for sale price won't be tried by me again.

picky cat says no
By kk1209 on Mar 26, 2021
My 11yrs old cat refuse to eat it. I have to syringe feed him because of his kidney problem. He hates the chicken flavor, duck seems better to him. I finally tried ziwi peak and my cat LOVE it! The instinct recipe is not bad, it have a lot of meat. But you can find big pieces of carrot and peas, which could be the reason of why my cat hate it. Will not buy again.

Didn’t work for us
By WildWilmasMom on Apr 11, 2021
After checking around I decided this brand would be safe and good for my cat so I ordered it in the dry food and can but my cat hates it so thinking she maybe was just finicky I tried to feed it to the neighborhood cats and they didn’t like either. Wish I had tried it out first.

Mushy cat food
By WorksGreat on Mar 10, 2021
This has soooooo much moisture in it that it’s not even close to pate style cat food and has an awful smell that Midnight just refuses to eat. I thought ok I will try to feed the outdoor stray that I feed this and I am sure he will appreciate it, put it in his dish and he ran off into the yard. I picked up the dish, got him a new one put Sheba in it and he came up to eat. Will never purchase this brand or food again. Thank You chewy for refunding and I donated to someone in need of cat food at a local pet in my area.

Picky eater approved
By Allison on Feb 26, 2021
My 11 year old cat, Ramona, used to happily eat halo. Recently, has has become picky and didn't seem to like that anymore. I tried several brands that I felt were of higher quality to keep her healthy. She is just under 8 pounds so keeping good weight on her is important for my petite girl. Instinct is by far her fave of our little experiment. It is a bit more dense but we always mix in 2 tablespoons of water into their food to ensure good hydration. Thumbs up ifor instinct!

They were not pleased!
By Joyce on Jan 21, 2021
Always looking for a quality food for my three cats, that isn't too expensive, but not cheap. I thought this one looked like it might be a winner. Wrong! None of my cats likes it, even my girl that usually cleans everyone else's dish. Don't know if it is the flavor, or the texture (pate), but they leave it in the dish until it dries up or I throw it away. It sounded like a good quality food, but that doesn't do any good if for whatever reason they won't eat it. Also, every can in the package was dented! None was broken so guess they were still good. Oh well, back to the hunt!

Very Meaty! Yum!
By Number1 on Feb 8, 2021
Strawberry is 17 and has stenosis of the esophagus so she needs pates that flow down easily. Also, her taste buds seem to do her no favor. However, she needs to put on weight, has itchy skin, and I felt she needed some meats and oils and higher calories. This is quite meaty (I can see liver in it.) and I was afraid it might come back up, but didn't. And she loves it! Was "pigging", she loved it so much, so had to pick it up. So happy!

Changed Formula
By PickleSuki on Mar 8, 2021
My cats used to love this, and now refuse to eat it due to the formula change I assume. Same goes for the kitten chicken wet food formula, for my younger cat as well. Huge bummer because we loved this brand before and now we'll have to search for something new.

Excellent for weight gain
By LaLasMom on Feb 24, 2021
So happy I tried this for my kitty. She has been eating it for just over a week now and she loves it and I can see she is already putting on weight! She was always a heavy eater but didn't seem to put any weight on until she started eating this food. I'm one happy Mama of a 14 year old feline! <3
