70% REAL ANIMAL INGREDIENTS
You'll find at least 70% real animal ingredients and nutritious oils, plus 30% vegetables, fruits and other wholesome ingredients. Made without grain, potato, corn, wheat, soy, by-product meals or artificial colors or preservatives.

HIGH-PROTEIN KIBBLE
High in animal protein, grain-free and guided by Instinct's belief in raw, each recipe starts with real meats like cage-free chicken, USA-raised beef or farm-raised rabbit.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece
They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Original by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw — raising the bar in nutrition and taste.
The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does
Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand
LEAD WITH RAW
It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.
KEEP IT REAL
Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.
MAKE IT SIMPLE
Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.
DO IT TOGETHER
Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with local shelters and volunteer efforts nationwide we’re on a mission to transform the lives of all pets.
MAKE IT BETTER
Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

About Instinct
Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

Excellent food!
By TheBeekeepersBasket on Oct 25, 2020
All 3 of my dogs are enjoying this food! No more itchy, flapping ears! All doing much better on this brand and flavor. We have two labs and an English Springer who are crazy now when it’s feeding time! They LOVE it! My daughter is now transitioning her beautiful Pit mix to this food and her coat looks much better already! Her allergic bumps and hair thinning are gone after just a few weeks.

Dog likes it
By Coop on Nov 3, 2020
My dog is a picky eater and often leaves the kibble until late at night. He does seem to like Instinct and will eat at his mealtime. I like the quality of the food.

The kibble size is great for mixed households!
By christen on Sep 25, 2019
My dogs love this stuff and the kibble size is small enough for my 16 lb Pekingese while not being too small for my 65 lb shepherd mix. It is a little too big for our most recent addition of a 7 lb chi mix however. But to be able to cover a range of small/medium to large is a great bonus. And the chi can eat it, she just has to do some extra crunching haha.

Healthy Dry Kibble
By Alexis on Jul 12, 2019
I was recently feeding my dog Zignature, which is another grain free dog kibble. Within a week of switching his food, his stool is much healthier and his teeth seem so much cleaner. And this is $10 cheaper than Zignature’s cheapest big bag of food. Worth the switch, I’m happy he’s as healthy as he is!

Umm..No...My dogs hated
By LMH1 on Jul 25, 2019
Both my dogs smelled this dog food and walked away. They did not even attempt to eat this food. You would think the high price for this food would be of good quality.

Great for 1 dog, not so much the other one
By mamafirebird on Nov 1, 2018 Top 100 Contributor
I regularly rotate both the brands, and main proteins in our food choices. We finished up a bag of Instinct Original Salmon, and decided to get Duck next. Our Duck bag was quite different from the Salmon; where the Salmon had what appeared to be lots and lots of dry crumbs and particles that rehydrate to look like crumbled bits from the Raw Boost version, the Duck lacked these yummy bits. My older female Australian Shepherd didn't seem to notice the difference, and devoured her meals. Unfortunately, my picky young male Aussie objected to the lack of the crumbs and bits, and only grudgingly eats the Duck version. I'm still searching for a dry food my picky eater will happily devour, minus the 10 minute bowl staring sessions at the beginning of every meal. … more

No longer a single protein food
By Kathy on Nov 30, 2018
I've been feeding my dog this food because he has food allergies....He loved it...it's a single ingredient protein..duck formula. And it really helped his allergies. But.. They changed the ingredients to include...chicken meal...I've had to change dog foods. I'm so disappointed by what this company did.
