What does "meal" mean in "duck meal, chicken meal", etc.?

Meal is made by grinding the protein after it has been rendered (cooked in a stew-like way but at high temperatures) and then dried so it'll contain a higher protein content and low moisture which helps provide the pet with the most nutritional value in the food.
This food says all life stages, but does that mean kitten as well? I have two adult cats and a 2 month old kitten.

This recipe does not contain any added Taurine. Meat naturally contains a lot of taurine through amino acids methionine and cysteine and is the primary source of naturally derived taurine. Because taurine naturally occurs in their recipes, they do not need to supplement with taurine in their dog diets and do not test for it.

Might not be great for senior cats

I bought this kibble on the recommendation that I should try a higher protein content food to prevent my 16 year old feline from losing more muscle mass. He will not eat the food. I don’t know if it’s too hard for him to digest, or maybe it doesn’t taste good, but as I have tried to transition him over he eats all of his old food and leaves this stuff in the dish.

So disappointed

I was so excited to buy this food, read through the reviews and took advantage of the autoship price! The food arrived today. I brought the bags in and they immediately started sniffing(can smell it strong through the bag) so I immediately opened and mixed some in their normal food. They both sniffed the bowls and both walked away! I took a few pieces and put them on the floor like they were their treats neither 1 touched it!! Wasted $100 on 2 bags! I have 1 picky kitty and 1 that would eat almost anything like lettuce off the floor or a potato chip, if she won't touch it there's no hope!

Instinct dry duck cat food

It's a great low carb food. All flavors are interchangeable without easing them into a new product. My one cat is allergic to chicken so I get the salmon normally. When it's out of stock I go for this duck flavor as they don't care for the rabbit one. After tons of research it's the only low carb option I've found. I don't want to ever have to give either one of my kitties insulation as my one friend did.

The really good stuff!

Yes, this is the pretty penny food. However, I have 8 cats I take care of and 6 out of 8 are chonks. My oldest cat eats a lot, but never gains weight, and constantly throws up. She has the best vet care but nothing is ever found to be wrong with her. I have tried food after food no matter the cost to try to assist her. I happened upon some instinct toppers for my dog which she was stealing. So, I decided to try some for my queen. I found the toppers, but they were not recommended as food, just toppers. So, I went through the chewy inventory of Instinct and ordered 3 new products, this dry food real duck kibble was one of those. To quickly sum this up, my queen (Goonie) hasn't stopped eating it since I opened the package. She feels like she might have gained a small bit too. She has also decreased the vomiting a lot. She still does vomit, but the consistency is very different and a lot less. I am excited to find this product and I am hoping her interest doesn't wane. I also am hoping inventory and manufacturer stays positive.

Healthy treats

We have 4 cats. A few months ago we changed our wet cat food from a Major Big Brand Name to the Instinct canned pate and never looked back. The cost is higher but the difference in our cats eating habits have changed. They are content and satisfied eating less! One cat is extremely over wait. He is now loosing weight and looking much better. They are getting real meat instead of carbs that they can't digest properly. We have now decided to forego the unhealthy bagged treats and serve them this Real Duck Freeze Dried Coated Kibble, and the cats love it! We live and we learn! I'm looking forward to fewer visits to the vet!!!
