Pregnant/Nursing Females: Feed up to 3 times the Adult maintenance amount shown above.
Ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight, and activity level so the guide below should be used as an initial recommendation. Divide the per day by the number of feedings per day. Be sure to always provide clean, fresh water. Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet’s diet.
Always introduce a new food over a period of 5 - 7 days, mixing increasing amounts of Instinct with the current food each day.

Great Start, Sickening end
By Kate on Aug 16, 2020
I wanted to try adding raw to my kitties’ diet and for the first bag all was swell! They loved picking out the duck pieces and were even excited about the kibble. I thought we found a food they loved and was actually pretty good for them. It all went down hill when I bought the second bag. They vomited everywhere. I tried giving them less to make sure they just weren’t eating too fast but their bodies rejected anything this food was in. Poor babies are now hesitant to eat and seem to blame their bowls for their tummy troubles :( Hopefully my experience isn’t common for everyone, I wish you good luck as you find the purrfect meal for your kitty.

Cat really enjoys.

Cat enjoys and is doing well on it. Costs a lot less than the prescription diet she was on.

Seemed like a good food, but my cat wouldn’t eat
By Brooke on Dec 28, 2019
My can refused to touch this food. Disappointing because the ingredients seemed good and I’ve tried food toppers before that she enjoyed. I got the same protein she normally eats and she still wouldn’t touch it after a week of trying. Your cat may not like this if they are very picky.

Great food for sensitive, old cat tummies
By melee on Nov 28, 2019
My cat has an incredibly sensitive stomach and develops issues with foods quickly. This one took care of his diarrhea and vomiting quickly. And he loves the little bits of freeze dried raw pieces--to the extent that he digs through his food looking for them.

Cats like it.
By Ginny on Feb 14, 2019
Cats like it. I'm not sure just how to use it. I give them canned Instinct regularly. I'm afraid they are gaining weight using both. Might be good to have on hand for emergencies like an earthquake or fire. Can grab a bag, and go.

2/3 cats love, 1/3 tolerates
By frankandsketch on Jan 4, 2019 top1000Contributor
I’m hopeful the one cat who tolerates this food will grow to love it as it seems like a great food. I’ve used the topper for over a year. The two who love this food chow it down. I free feed in small bowls around the house and notice no overeating and no freshness issues.
