Ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight, and activity level so the guide below should be used as an initial recommendation. Divide the cups per day by the number of feedings per day. Be sure to always provide clean, fresh water. Along with dry food, we recommend feeding raw or wet food to help increase the amount of water in your pet’s diet.
Always introduce a new food over a period of 5 to 7 days, mixing increasing amounts of Instinct with the current food each day.

The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does
Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand
LEAD WITH RAW
It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.
KEEP IT REAL
Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.
MAKE IT SIMPLE
Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.
DO IT TOGETHER
Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with local shelters and volunteer efforts nationwide we’re on a mission to transform the lives of all pets.
MAKE IT BETTER
Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

About Instinct
Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

Tyler can be very. picky but he loves this food. He generally starts rejecting a food within the first week but we are at week 3 and he is still enjoying this food. It is also helping with his itchy skin.. Very pleased!

How I wish my dogs would love this!
By HT12 on Jul 11, 2020
When I found this brand, I thought I had hit the jackpot for my dogs' skin issues caused by another brand of kibble. I was disappointed. This brand is quite pricey, and I understand why. The ingredients were the main reason why I purchased this food, and having raw bits was a bonus. However, this was surprisingly very fishy, almost foul in smell. I understand that fish meal is the second ingredient, but it was overpowering. There was also very little pieces of raw chicken in the bag. I left this out for 20 hours and neither dogs would touch it. Maybe it's my dogs, maybe it's the food, but I ended up just donating this bag away. Let's hope another dog will like this brand. Like I said, I love the ingredients that Instinct uses for their dog food, but this bag was sadly a miss. … more

My boy loves it
By Heather on Feb 19, 2020
My 80 pound amstaff loves this food. He drools while eating it. I have been feeding him instinct for about a year and a half. He has been getting the skin and coat formula for about 4 months. I've noticed his coat is much softer and shinier than it was. The food is high priced but the noticable difference in my dog makes it worth it. I tried other foods and either my dog wouldn't eat it or I didn't see any benefits. My dog has skin allergies so we'll see how he does when allergy season starts.

Instinct Raw Boost Skin & Coat
By jmcdd50 on Mar 21, 2020
Neither my Yorkie or my Biewer Terrier will eat this food. They smell it and just walk away. I have to mention that my dogs are picky eaters so other dogs might like it.

Wonderful addition to our dogs' diet.
By Roxanne on Feb 18, 2020
This has been a great addition to our dogs' diet. I cook part of their food and add this to it. One of our dogs had been itching quite a bit, but since using this food, he no longer seems to have this issue.

Picky eater problem resolved!
By Daisy on Dec 25, 2019
My terrier mix (45 lbs) 9 mo female has never really liked any brand food I’ve bought .... until now. She immediately dived into this brand and flavor without having to be coaxed. I was surprised to find a food she seems to really like as even high end famous name brands didn’t appeal to her. If u have a picky eater, try this. I totally recommend!!

great food!
By Katie on Oct 11, 2019
My dogs are normally very picky, especially with kibble. After feeding just raw I thought they would have a really hard time going back to hard food. They did amazing and gave gobbled it up every single time without an issue (though we do add nature’s variety freeze dried raw topping to it). I’m highly impressed. And it looks like it’s doing some good for my Rottweilers skin too.

Quality Good - Taste is not for my pup
By agibson on Aug 20, 2019
When switching dog food, I understand it is best to do so gradually. At the beginning, only 25% of his food in take was Instinct so he ate it. However, when we got to the point of 75%, he fought me to eat his food. I added incentives like wet food. They worked for one feeding and the next time he was back to fighting me. Finally, I gave him 100% his old food and he ate it right up! So clearly, not for my pup.
