The anthelmintic activity of milbemycin oxime is believed to be a result of interference with invertebrate neurotransmission.
We were in a bind because my vet stopped carrying this product. Chewy got it set up and sent quickly. Thanks for the quick paws at Chewy!
For some reason, cats need stronger doses than dogs. These pills were huge, and too large for my cat. Granted, she is hard to pill, but these pills are impossible. She did lick off the tasty coating, but then would have nothing to do with the pills. Even breaking it and putting pieces in pill pockets didn't work.
Our collies all use or have used Interceptor. It's the only heartworm protection recommended by our vet. Collies cannot use the typical heartworm products.
I love Chewy. Their customer service is the BEST.
Always on time and delivery with a smile....easy to use web site. Chewy is so easy....no more dragging large bags of food from the pet store. Interceptor is a great product, too.
I find it almost impossible to get this into my service dog. Anything I coat or wrap on, she will spit it out. Kind of expensive to waste
Have used regular Interceptor Tablets since 1997(when available) for 13 dogs in multiple dog household. I have recommended them to others over the years.
Our 5-month-old puppy would NOT eat the Interceptor Plus “hard” chews. He eats everything he sees so this was surprising. We mixed it in with his breakfast and he spits the “chew” out. We had to break the “chew” in quarters and hide them in a hotdog. Within eight hours of taking Interceptor Pulse, our dog had liquid diarrhea so we are cooking rice. I inadvertently touched my finger to my mouth after handling the Interceptor Plus “chew” and it tastes HORRIBLY BITTER. No wonder the dog wouldn’t eat it.
I'm not sure who thought this would be acceptable for dogs and cats, but they're the size of a quarter! What cat wants to eat this medicine?
My dog always loved the other ones she had, they were for a lesser weight. We had to get her the 51-100 lb this time & she wouldn’t eat it at all! Not happy that I had to trick her to eat it, well swallow it because she wouldn’t chew it!
