FAQ

How To Give Your Dog Interceptor Plus

Interceptor Plus (milbemycin oxime/praziquantel) is a chewable tablet flavored with real chicken that you give to your dog once a month, every month. Its overall acceptability is 96.6%, which makes dosing easy.

You can give Interceptor Plus to your dog by hand or add it to a small amount of dog food. Administer the chewables in a manner that encourages your dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. If your dog normally swallows treats whole, you may break the chewables into pieces and feed them to your dog.

Make sure that your dog consumes the complete dose, and observe your pet for a few minutes after administration to ensure that no part of the dose is lost or rejected. If you suspect that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.

    Great Find, Happy Dog

By NCYorkieMama on Sep 21, 2021

I'm so happy we found these Heartworm meds. I used to dread giving my 5pd Yorkie his heartworm meds because his old brand had a large pill that he hated. After doing some research, I came across this brand and wanted to give it a try because it was 1) a small chew and 2) was chicken flavored. My dog absolutely loves this chew. It makes my life so much easier!

By shkm on Sep 6, 2021

I have a tiny toy breed puppy so it has been somewhat difficult to find the appropriate preventive. The medication is in the form of a soft chew which he really liked making life much easier.

    no worms!!

By happyhuman on Apr 8, 2021

I began using this brand 4 years ago. Like Bravecto flea and tick, my dogs gobble it up with no issues at all. I'm not sure about heartworms, but we've had our share of gross-out worm issues in our 50 years of pet experience. Since beginning this product, WE HAVE NEVER SEEN ANY WORMS ON THE DOGS, IN THE YARD, OR EVEN WORSE--IN THE WATER/FOOD DISHES...yah that was really gross...but it was a terminally ill dog that never was healthy since puppyhood. We tried all the natural methods, all the orals, everything. Only this one has worked 100%. Anyway, we'll keep giving this to our animals as long as we have pets.

    Good protection

By Protection on Jun 1, 2021

This product is a very good product. You give it to the animal and you are done for 12 weeks. However after winter it does take about a week for it to kick in good. Also if your small dog has skin issues it does not help with that.

    Vet Recommended

    By Kat333 on Jan 31, 2021

This is the only thing my vet recommends for my tiny Chi and she tolerates it well. Chewy has the best price as with everything else I buy from them.

    would recommend Interceptor

By Kate on Oct 27, 2020

I have been giving my toy dog Interceptor for years. It's a very small, chew. She's a very picky eater and has been known to "pick out" the unwanted medicine hidden in the treat. lol I usually don't have to do much "hiding" with this product, which I like.
