Interceptor Plus (milbemycin oxime/praziquantel) is a chewable tablet flavored with real chicken that you give to your dog once a month, every month. Its overall acceptability is 96.6%, which makes dosing easy.
You can give Interceptor Plus to your dog by hand or add it to a small amount of dog food. Administer the chewables in a manner that encourages your dog to chew, rather than to swallow without chewing. If your dog normally swallows treats whole, you may break the chewables into pieces and feed them to your dog.
Make sure that your dog consumes the complete dose, and observe your pet for a few minutes after administration to ensure that no part of the dose is lost or rejected. If you suspect that any of the dose has been lost, redosing is recommended.
Too soon to tell because Paco who is four pounds, only took one dose. He ate it with no problem and didn't have any side effects.
Brock takes these no problem, and has never had an issue
I have just started using this product but no problems so far.
Had trouble switching auto ship from one product to another.
Easy to use, effective, dog takes with no problem. I will continue to use.
I like this but I am not sure if this a heartworm pill only, or it q combination of heartworm and flea medicine too.
My 5 pound dog kept vomiting the lowest dose of another heart worm med. this dose is much lower and he tolerates it really well and loves the taste.
My finicky little 6 lb Yorkie likes the taste. She normally smells a chewable then licks it if it smells good and if it passes the lick test she eats it.
You couldn’t ask for a more efficient company then Chewy! I had to call to check on my order. The rep told me I had not actually placed the order and offered to order for me while on phone. Quick and easy!
When my vet prescribed this medicine for my 6 lb Maltese, she noted that my dog may not like the smell or taste but luckily that wasn't the case. My dog chomps it down like it's any other treat. I do notice that my dog is a little fatigued a day or two after she takes it. Other than that, no other alarming side effects. Given she doesn't take any other meds, unsure if I would buy this again because I don't like my dog being fatigued by this medication on a monthly basis.
