I actually never seen a stainless Steel litter box until now. It's easy to clean and it's easy to scoop out the mess that's in the box. The box came with all the parts and there were no dents. So far there hasn't been any leakage and the litter stays in the box when my cat scratches to cover the mess. There are no scratches on the box. As soon as I put the litter in the box, my cat Cher jumped right in the box once it was in place. She likes the box a lot. The stainless steel litter box is much better than plastic. The stainless steel box doesn't hold the smell like the plastic even after it's clean. I'm very satisfied with the purchase. I think my cat Cher is happy as well. I don't think I will buy another plastic litter box again.
I love this pan. Iam a rescue mom and when we brought our baby home she had giardia. And between the medication and the continuous dumping and cleaning of the litter has made me a bit O.C.D. about it. The plastic pans eventually get scratch markes and even though I still dump and wash every week. I felt as if they just were not clean. These stainless steel pans are the best. Clean right up and the tip liner keeps litter in the pan and helps with their privacy needs. The two pans were VERY expensive but in the end worth it.
I took a gamble even though I saw the other reviews because this was a great size for a stainless steel litter box and price wise just felt good across the internet. When I received this item the walls were cracked along the rim that sits on the tray from shipping, I didn’t care too much and just taped them up and it hasn’t been an issue. The walls are indeed loose and do not work well for a cat who likes to prop themselves up or jump out using the sides. There are tiny holes on each corner but nothing to fasten the walls to the actual bin. I have found a relatively simple solution of using thick double sided tape (the gooey kind, about 1-2mm thick) and it has stuck like a charm. There’s not a big issue of litter getting stuck between the walls and the tray, especially if you don’t use too much litter. I have one large cat (naturally 15lbs) and it fits him well. True to size and a great height to help prevent diggers but still accessible for older cats. There are 4-5 rubber pads on the bottom that help support the box and prevent it from moving. Doesn’t hold any stink whatsoever and if you don’t mind a lil DIY then just go for it! :-)
Plus side: this is a better size/shape than the box I had previously, and my cat seems fine with it. Big minus: (short version), clumping litter REALLY sticks to it. Also, it had a sticker on the inside that was somewhat difficult to remove. WHY do they put things with glue on the INSIDE? Longer version: I was buying this to replace my old hooded Nature's Miracle box, which was GREAT but had lost all of its coating so that the litter stuck to it like glue, making it extremely difficult to scoop and keep clean. I hoped stainless steel (especially stainless advertised as "non-stick") would alleviate this problem. I was even willing to give up having an enclosed box, knowing it will mean that more litter gets scattered. However, sadly, the clumping (clay) litter sticks to it quite a bit. Still not at all easy to scoop. I have to use clay litter for my big boy kitty because for whatever reason, his pee is very stinky. I might try a different litter just to see if it's any better, but I've never had success switching litter with him (see above: re stinky) - only the clay litter seems to neutralize the odor to any extent.
This litter box is way larger than a normal x-large box which is great for my cats needs. I have two boys that want to stand up to use the box. A normal sized litter box even with a lid would have urine either over the top or through the crack if there was a lid. Problem been solved with this box. The sides are high enough that they do not pee over the top. Cleaning the box out is easy although litter will stick a little to the sides. I do not detect any smell so far with this box. Overall an excellent buy and I will purchase a second box.
We got this little box because stainless steel and high walls. This little box is easier to clean but if you have a cat that pees standing up, the pee will find its way out through the part where the top and bottom parts are joined. We tried to make it so the top part doesn’t move by using black tape but pee still seeps out.
This was definitely a splurge purchase, but it was on sale and I was sick of how gross my plastic litter boxes got from all the scratches and fact they're not "non-stick". This litter box has been great though! And it's going to pay for itself when I consider I won't have to replace it in a year.
I purchased this because it was the only box I could find with the dimensions I needed, but I would have preferred an all plastic box. The box is so heavy since it is made of aluminum, which makes it difficult to change the box. My senior girl lifts her butt as she pees and it ends up going through the cracks between the lid and box which somewhat defeats the purpose of the shield. Overall, I am keeping it because of the dimensions but would have preferred a plastic version of this which would have also been a lot cheaper!
This thing is awesome 10/10 A++. I always hesitated to buy it because of the high price but I got really tired of trying to scoop out sticky litter from the base of my old plastic litter box. Watched Malory’s review on YouTube and after many thoughts…decided to invest in this. The first scoop I’ve ever tried felt ~magical~~ no exaggeration!! So smooth, nothing gets stick to the bottom, my cat jumps into it without any hesitation, and it stays very clean! I’ve never regretted anything I just wish I’ve bought it earlier :))))) <3
I've been through a lot of litter boxes. My elderly cat is afraid to go deep into a litter box and tends to stand close to the edge and would tinkle off the sides. She also tends to tinkle in the same spot so there is usually a wet spot that sticks to the bottom of the pan. She won't use a covered box. The stainless steel box has worked better and was worth the cost as it is large, and the urine smell does not soak in. For the most part the removable guard has also helped with tinkle runoff and with litter scatter. Would recommend!
