I purchased this scoop to use with the Ococat Natural Wood Clumping litter, because it has larger holes to sift while scooping. The overall size of this scoop is much smaller than I expected it to be (the sifting bowl is only 3.5" x 3.25"), but it still does an adequate job at scooping the Ococat litter, which is rather difficult to scoop, because the wood pellets are so large. Not many scoops would work with this type of litter... I think Ococat should market a companion scoop that is custom for their litter.
Excellent With Pellets

I purchased this scoop to be used with kiln dried pellets (horse bedding). I use these pellets as my cat's litter and this scoop helps to only pick up the poop without throwing away pellets. Excellent purchase!
Perfect replacement scoop for tidy cat breeze.

I bought this as a replacement for the scoop from a tidy cat breeze system. They do not sell those scoops separately. This one works perfectly! It even has the hook to keep it on the box. I actually prefer this one because it seems a bit sturdier.
Works Well With Breeze Litter System
on Dec 7, 2018
I use the Tidy Cats Breeze litter system. The original scoop died over a year ago. I've tried several other types of scoops to replace the broken scoop yet they have worked, but not well. This one works quite well as a replacement and I was glad to find it!
Smaller than it appears

I bought this because it was recommended for pine litter. The holes do work fairly well with our pine cat litter, however the handle is on the shorter side. Not a huge bother but it does put you closer to the waste in the litter box. Bigger hands would have a hard time wielding it.

This liter scoop is much smaller than I expected. It's about the size of a hairbrush. I wasn't too thrilled with it at all.
Great for pine litter!

I like it, but I wish the handle was longer. Still works for me though; holes are big enough for pine litter to fall through.
Small but usefull
on Oct 8, 2018
Because I use the newspaper wrappers as litter bags, I was looking for a scoop that would be narrow enough to get the litter into the bag without spilling all over the outside. I had read a review that said the scoop needed to be wider and longer -- well that depends on what you're using it for. My only complaint is that I wish it were a little sturdier.

This could be the ideal scoop for pellet litter IF it were 1"-2" wider and the handle was maybe 4" longer. The holes are wide enough to sift unused litter, which is why I gave it three stars. But I have to agree with some of the other reviews, this scoop is quite small and does seem like a toy. In fact, it's slightly taller that an 16oz bottle of water.
I also purchased the Lucky Champ ABS Cat Litter Scoop. That is the perfect sized scoop. If you can take the handle off the Lucky Champ and put it on this IRIS scoop, it would be purrfect :)
Perfect for pine litter

Yes, the scoop is very small and I wouldn't recommend using it for clumping litter. But it works very well for what I use it for, which is scooping solids out of my pine litter. The slots are big enough for pellets to fall through, but not the waste.
