my cat is too dumb too use properly (i love her)
My cat poops with her body poking out of the hole, like a groundhog. I'm not sure if this is because she is just too big to be comfortable (she's a slim 11 pounds), or if she's just dumb, bless her heart. She also scratches outside of the box, at the top lid, to cover her business, which still makes a mess outside, but I guess maybe helps catch some of the litter that otherwise would be scattered by this process? She has always scratched at the side of the box like this, but I guess I just assumed she'd do that inside of this box since it has a lid. Maybe she just needs a larger size box. I'll try that next. Her business is super easy to scoop, it slides right off of the bottom very nicely.
Horizontal or High Pee-ers Need This!
Absolutely the best. No holes or seams for urine to seep through. High enough that my cat is comfortable getting in and using it. Retains all of the crazy litter-spillage from my cat breakdancing in the box post-poop. And SMOOTH without corners or divots so I don't have to dig around with the scooper and break up the clumps to get them out! If I can get all my cats to use these I will have seven of them in my house.
I should have bought these a long time ago!
I live in a small condo and my two cats were tracking litter everywhere, every day. These litter boxes are game changers for me. Barely any litter has been tracked outside of the room the boxes are in, whereas before there was litter tracked throughout the entire condo.
Top entry litter box
Got this for my three kittens and they love it. I gave it four stars because I have another one that has a hinged top which I prefer since I do not need to pop top off but this works great and less litter around the box than traditional litter boxes
No way will my cats use this
It was something I saw a YouTuber us for his cats, and I liked the idea. My cats will not jump in this box (also, it weighs hardly anything)
Not that great
The idea is for the cat to jump out and walk on the top to let all the litter fall back in but mine prefers to jump directly out of the hole so there's still tons of litter everywhere. Not only that but even though she's a kitten she still ends up not having enough space and frequently accidentally steps into poop on her way out. Good idea in theory but terrible design if your cat doesn't use it the intended way. Will be going back to traditional side entry.
Very happy
I started my somewhat feral kitten with this litter box and it is simply carefree. She is born to dig outside but this contains her mischief. She can empty a flower pot in 15 seconds but has never created a clean-up mishap with this litter box. It is yet to be seen if the older cat (20 something) will use one as I add them. I do not think training a senior is a deal breaker as they do what they choose. Kitten had no issues moving to this box and as I noted she is a wild climber, hunter extraordinaire even as a tiny. she simply loves this box
So much better than side door/shallow open pan
I have 2 top door litter boxes now this one is the smaller the only thing I don't like is the sharp hook pieces that hang off lid. The scooper isn't the best so tossed that. My 2 cats love the top door and while there is still gritty kitty from paws it is nowhere near what the shallow styles can kick up.
Excellent choice!
I was skeptical. I don't trust most litterbox claims to fame.... this thing is awesome. I put five pounds of litter in it. Misty can scatch like she's digging to China, and no more litter on the floor! The clumping litter doesn't stick like glue to the sides, so it cleans easily. Minimal odor. Great value! It's sturdy and doesn't take up alot of space. It fits right under the sink, behind the curtain.
Just a little disappointed
My kitty prefers top access to her litter box so this feature is a must. I purchased the new oval shaped box as a replacement for a rectangular one. Unfortunately, she makes a big litter mess with the new oval one that did not occur with the rectangular one. I should have purchased another rectangular one. Otherwise, the construction and ease of cleaning is great!
