Recommended only for kittens
Purchased because I was in need of a box with high back or shield. I have an older cat that seems to urinate high and thought this one would help problem but it didn't. When urine hits shield it drains down into seam. Also the way the box is designed the wet litter is hard to scoop out of the ridges in bottom of box. I'm now on another mission to find a high sided and back litterbox. Would only recommend for kittens.
Not happy with this litter box. Channel around the perimeter, narrow in the front, serves no purpose other than to make it impossible to scoop cleanly. The indentation collects hardened litter, so you almost need another tool to clear it. What were they thinking?
This item is small did not work for me
This is for kittens or small cats. Sami my cat is a normal size and weight and she had a heck of a time in it. I got out her old one and this new one is going in trash. She was as big as the container width and deep...So, if your cat is small and I do mean kitten size it is great otherwise move on to something else.
Too small for anything but a kitten. Top does not stay on and my male cat, only a year old can barely turn around in it. Ridges in bottom make it hard to clean. My older cats won't even enter it. I bought 2, and would like to return the one that is unused.
Nice litter box
The litter box is a medium size. It fits perfectly where I want it. Very little litter comes out the front when the cat exits. The top doesn't snap down. Not sure if it's me or maybe it's not made to snap on. Anyway it still stays put and doesn't slide around. The scooper slides down to slits on the top and is out of the way from the cat doing his business.
Very Useful Litter Box
I have ordered 2 of these as I have 2 cats. At first they were hesitant to use and took a little coordination for them to learn how to properly bury their poop as these walls are much taller so they couldn't get to the side of it. The only thing I am not a big fan about is the indentation of the bottom of the plastic box. My cats LOVE to do their business in the corners and I do NOT use liners. So I realized that for some reason whoever designed the plastic box there is a rim indentation on the bottom of it and because of that in the corner you have to make sure you scrape it all up from the bottom of it that got stuck there. I got used to it now and I showed it to my kids (this is their chores! LOL) how to properly clean it there, but in my opinion that was an unnecessary design feature. Overall, I love it and the cats not doing much mess anymore because of the tall walls around it :)
So far so good!
My two adult cats had no problem transitioning to these litter boxes from their old ones with no walls. Size is the same as the previous ones. The walls really keep the litter inside the box, which is exactly what we were looking for! A whole lot less expensive than the fancy versions.. and does the same job! Love them!
No more pee on the floor!
Tried several tall-sided boxes for my female senior cat who doesn’t like covered boxes. None of them were tall enough and her pee would spray on the wall and floor. This box is a good 1-1/2” taller than most on the market and (knock wood) the walls and floors have been pee-free since.
Small with a loose lid
This is ok. Much smaller than I thought. Probably best for kitten to young cats but a big adult male doesn't fit well. The sides don't snap on easily so I've just let them "set" on the edge. But it''s good to have for the corners of the room for those cats that like to pee high. I probably wouldn't get this model again for my needs as I have several large cats.
Yes! No ceiling!
I love having the sides to protect the floor from kicked litter, without needing a cavelike box that my cat does not like to enter. Serious design flaw of molding around the edges of the bottom, however - especially in the front corners - that makes cleaning difficult.
