I had no problems with this litter box. It was large and seemed well-made. To install the lid, you must insert the tab in the slot then compress the two buttons on the other end of the lid so that they go into the round holes in the box. However, no matter what I tried my kitty absolutely refused to enter the box. I tried every possible position. Placing enticing food inside the empty box and also catnip. I ended up donating this litter box to a kitty foster home. I think if my kitty were a kitten or maybe a juvenile 1 year old or less, she might have been persuaded, but at 5+ yrs. she is already set in her ways.
My owner got this for me but we were both quickly dissapointed. The lid is very hard to get into position and the plastic is sharp. It even harmed my human as they were trying to assemble it for me. Once it was assembled, my human realized they would have to fight the lid every time they scooped my piles. I jumped on top, and being a dainty 9lb Sphynx, it hurt my feelings the lid fell in and damaged my pride. I do not recommend for any cats over the very healthy weight of 10lbs. My human has informed me I may be closer to 11lbs...
I wanted to get a new litter box for my cats to replace one I've had for about 4 years. We went with a top entry box to try to cut down on the amount of litter in the carpet. It took the cats a couple days to figure it out (they mostly used their second box). I actually ended up leaving the lid off for a while so they could look into it. Now they've figured it out and they love it! The walls are very slick so the litter doesn't stick to them. It has a handle so it's easy to move. The lid is very easy to take on and off.
Overall our litter box is working well and doing its job, but when it arrived we had issues with getting the top to fit on since it arrived warped. It is still sturdy and we haven't had an issue, but our cat still tracks a lot of litter out of the box even with the design
This litter box is flimsy and awkward to clean. The top part barely fits into the little divets. If your cat is over 3 pounds it's going to push the top part into the bottom. There's no liner large enough for this so you must take the entire box and move it to clean it. Almost impossible since it's so bulky but also flimsy. Cheaply made product. This litter box somehow amplifies the odors inside. Ewwww. I'm so disappointed in this purchase, what a waste of money and time.
We have a better version of a top entry litterbox that hinges to open and has hand hold spot. This one doesn't have either - it's a fixed lid which is hard to open (it does NOT hinge open, which is also a nice feature since it drops the litter caught on the top back into the box) and does not have an easy way to grab/carry the litterbox.
I bought this to put in my one cats cage for her to have a cover to step up on if needed, a cover to keep the smell minimal for her, and it’s own scoop that can conveniently hang of the top. Even if not in the cage would be an awesome cat box to help reduce smell and easy to clean. Also it has various colors to choose from. I just chose the cheapest, but having the variety is a nice touch!
I just bought a second one of these because the first one was great and lasted several years. Unfortunately the new one has latches do not line up properly and it is very difficult to remove the top so we are pretty disappointed.
I needed something that would prevent my car from kicking litter everywhere & keep my dog out. So far so good. She can kick litter out if she really wants to, but has dramatically decreased the amount I’m sweeping up compared to the basic box I had before. It also kinda blends into my decor and doesn’t look like an obvious litter box.
Perfect, since my hubbie is incapable of tolerating exposed kitty poop and pee-clumps. Poor thing. At least I'm allowed to have a cat.
