We have used this medication for our Doxie for years. It is a great product.
I have used this product as long as it has been on the market and IVerhart (original) prior to that. Current dog is Jack Russel Mix (8 yrs old) and prior pet #60 mixed breed 12 yrs). I prefer this product as it covers tape worms as well as other parasites. It is easy to administer (tasty) and I have never had an incidence of heart worm over the years I have used it.
I’m sure they’re doing the job that they’re supposed to but they need to do something about the flavor because I have to force my dog to eat them even though they’re chewables. I think I would prefer just to get her a shot once a year
Our dog has taken this product for awhile. The individual chewable heartworm prevention med is a bit large so I usually have to chop it down with a pill cutter in order to get my dog to take it. Sometimes she will take it just chopped up but last couple times I had to wrap it in small pieces of bread so something on the smell/taste must’ve have changed. But all in all it helps prevent heartworm.
Iverhart works great The only thing I would want better is not to have to buy 2 boxes since my dog is over the max weight limits! Much more expensive for me. He's 130lbs
Great product for dog I love chewy fast delivery customers service is #1
My 12 lb mix got a heartworm pill once that made him really sick because it also had tick preventative in it. We switched back, but after that, he would sniff at the pills and get freaked out. I had to grind the pills and mix them with peanut butter to get him to take it. However, he will chew these right up with no problem!
Love being able to order my pets much needed things from chewy
This was a replacement of another 6 month supply I had that did the same thing. When I first received, it was still soft and chewable and my dog eats it like a treat. After 1st month the soft chews completely dried out, hard as a rock. My dog simply can't eat it, nor would I want her to. I'm not sure of the cause as I've used Iverhart in the past and never had these problems. I'll be switching to another brand at this time because I don't want to continue to delay this med each month. This was a great product in my past experience but currently I simply feel disappointed.
I bought these so my dog would take them thinking they were soft. .They are NOT soft. She didnt seem to even like the flavor. Cut them up put in Peanut Butter that she loves and she ate some and left some just eating peanut butter. Put pieces in cheese, she ate some and ate around some in the cheese as well. It was a fight to get her to finish it. Thank goodness this is only given monthly. Hopefully they will make some that are REALLY soft.
