Description

Your furry friend must have a current heartworm test result on file with your veterinarian in order to be prescribed heartworm medication. Please visit your veterinarian to have this test performed annually to protect your four-legged friend. Help protect your pet from pesky pests with Iverhart Max Soft Chews. These soft chews are formulated to help prevent heartworm disease and can also help treat and control the other three most common worms—roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. This broad-spectrum medication helps to provide safe and effective year-round protection when given monthly and is intended for dogs 8 weeks or older weighing 50.1 to 100 pounds. To top it all off, it has a drool-worthy bacon flavor that your dog will love.

Uses

Used to prevent heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms.

Possible Side Effects

Please contact your veterinarian if the following adverse reactions occur: depression/lethargy, vomiting, anorexia, diarrhea, mydriasis, ataxia, staggering, convulsions, and hypersalivation.

Drug & Food Interactions

Talk to your veterinarian about any other drugs your pet is taking before starting this medication.

Precautions

All pets should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment, which is not effective against adult heartworm. Infected pets must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with this medication. While some microfilariae may be killed, this medication is not effective for microfilariae clearance. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children. In case of ingestion, contact your physician immediately. Physicians may contact a Poison Control Center. Keep this and all drugs out of the reach of children.

    Kahleesi's mom

    By on

I had her on another med for heartworms but she would not eat them but she loves these. Kahleesi is a 65lb pit lab Mix and has no trouble chewing or swallowing these and I really dont understand why everyone is complaining about their huge dog not being able to swallow these, sometimes I think people forget that dogs are supposed to be allowed to chew on bones and in the wild that's just what they do. And they wonder why some dog have teeth problems. Really People come on give me a break. She has had no problem with positive test since being on this medication but I do know they can test positive but after second more inclusive test its negative, this happened to me on the last kind of heartworm I had her on another med for heartworms but she would not eat them but she loves these. I usually get it from my vet so I have not had a problem with dry hard pills but if the are at the end of expiration date maybe that why they are hard but still not reason why your dog cant chew it and swallow. If you are giving this to a dog that is under 50 lbs then you are buying the wrong size, but if you have a lab or Doberman you should not have a problem chewing them up and swallowing them if you cut them up for your dog it's because you treat your dog too much like a human and allowed them to forget their natural ability to chew. My girl is spoiled she even sleep in my bed but she also is giving bones to keep her teeth sharp and clean and to remind her she was once a wild creature, I have never seen her more excited that when she laying on the floor chewing on one of her huge cow leg bones that are smoked i get from my butcher, and yes I have taken her to the vet with them and the vet says they are very good for her because she can not break little pieces of them off and swallow them and poke her stomach and intestines. This is the kid of things dog are supposed to do but people want to dress them up and paint their nails and stupid stuff like that and because of these things they forget the are dogs. … more

    Iverhart Max is GREAT!

    By on

Iverhart Max is GREAT! My dog takes it easily ... all I do is put it on top of her food when I feed her. She has never had any type of worms since being on Iverhart Max. It is a little on the pricey side, but worth it.

    Great product!

    By on

I have used this product before and am very satisfied with the quality and how easy it is to give to my dogs. I have three dogs; all on different medications for different reasons and one is particularly fussy when administering meds and all three dogs love the taste and texture of these soft chews.

    Broad spectrum of parasite control

    By on

Switched the dogs to this product (from heartgard) as it covers more internal parasites than others of it's type (we live on a farm with other livestock and animals). I will say, my super food loving dog, who literally eats anything and everything, does not like these. However, I can hide it in some cheese or sliced meat, and he'll eat it all. To me, the additionally parasite control is worth the extra hassle of administering it.

    Second purchase

    By on

Yes, they are big, difficult to chew due to size. They do cut with serrated bread knife. Gentle pressure for less crumbling. No problems here with the flavor. However, if my pups did have a problem, with the price difference, I could purchase a lot of peanut butter to slather on for flavor enhancement. No problems with parasites.

    Great product, great price.

    By on

I usually buy heartworm medication directly from my vet. When their office closed, I had to choose a new vet. Unfortunately, the new vet doesn't sell Iverhart Max in their office. So I checked prices at several online sellers and Chewy had the best price. I really appreciate that Iverhart Max takes care of more than just heartworms.

    Huge and bitter

They have to be cut into small pieces and even then he will find them when hidden in cheese or turkey and spit them out.

    Dog loves them

    By on

My large dog thinks they are candy. Chews them up and checks the floor for any crumbs. Haven't had any ticks since we started him on the chews.

    Heartworm positive?

    By on

I rescued my sweet boy almost 1 year ago. Best Christmas gift ever and I am a completely obsessed dog mom! So, why today... when I took him for his yearly shots and checks... WHY am I waiting on more blood work that can take 48+ agonizing hours because my baby popped positive for heart worm when he was negative when I got him and he’s been on Iverhart Max since I got him religiously every month?!!! I am sick with worry and this product came highly recommended by our vet and friends. This should NOT be a concern after giving this product and I fear what he will go through to get better if he is positive! My baby... he’s been through too much to go through this now!
