Description

Keep your pet feeling good from the inside out with the Jarrow Formulas Pet Dophilus Powder. The probiotic supplement is designed to help cats and dogs maintain a balanced intestinal microbial ecosystem, which in turn boosts intestinal health and immune function. Featuring a special blend of five probiotic strains plus inulin and metabolin, each gram delivers one billion viable cells, which is roughly ¼ teaspoon. There’s no refrigeration required for storage, and it easily blends with their regular food or water, making it a breeze to administer. Jarrow Formulas puts the “pro” in probiotics!

Key Benefits
  • Probiotic powder supplement designed to boost intestinal health and strong immunity in dogs and cats.
  • Blend of five probiotic strains, with one billion viable cells per gram, which is roughly ¼ teaspoon.
  • Contains inulin, which is a natural fiber that helps promote the growth of the beneficial microorganisms.
  • Also contains metabolin, a special blend of cell wall components and metabolites that works synergistically with the probiotic bacteria.
  • Does not require refrigeration and easily mixes with food and water for fuss-free administering.

  • Does what it's supposed to

It's the difference between hoping for rain to wash it into the grass, or solid enough to pick up. Good stuff, the dog will eat it

Bought this for one of my cats who was experiencing some symptoms of IBS (most likely stress induced since introducing a new puppy in the house). Within a few days (don't know exactly how long it took) her tummy seems to be back to normal but I will continue with the supplement since it offers benefits on a daily basis.

  • It made all the difference!

I went to a vet for my very affectionate cat's horrible breath. Was so bad I couldn't hardly hold him. The vet prescribed an atibiotic which eventually made it all the worse! My local natural food store recommended a pet probiotic - Pet Dophilus, and by george, it took care of his breath and he's healthier for it too. I swear by it!

It’s always nice to have a good working digestive system. With this product my dog eats well, digest well and was able to eliminate well. I have been using it for years and I would highly recommend it. Check first with your veterinarian

  • my cats have the best coats

i started my cats on this stuff a little over a year ago after my long hair ended up with a bout of too much of a certain stomach bacteria. i never had problems with getting them to eat it in their food. i started slowly, stirring it in every other day with their dinner and then building to daily. everyone who pets my cats says their fur feels amazing and soft, different from their own cats’ fur. i attribute it to this stuff. recently the long hair was diagnosed with early onset renal disease. not sure of how this might affect her kidneys, i stopped giving it to them and started adding fish oil by recommendation of her vet (to clarify, he didn’t suggest stopping the probiotic, just to add fish i started my cats on this stuff a little over a year ago after my long hair ended up with a bout of too much of a certain stomach bacteria. i never had problems with getting them to eat it in their food. i started slowly, stirring it in every other day with their dinner and then building to daily. everyone who pets my cats says their fur feels amazing and soft, different from their own cats’ fur. i attribute it to this stuff. recently the long hair was diagnosed with early onset renal disease. not sure of how this might affect her kidneys, i stopped giving it to them and started adding fish oil by recommendation of her vet (to clarify, he didn’t suggest stopping the probiotic, just to add fish oil) on top of changing her to a renal diet. she started becoming finicky and not eating all her food, or pushing away the other cat to eat his wellness core instead. on a whim, i tried sprinkling the probiotic on her renal wet food and she started eating it with passion, which is a relief. i’m going to give it a few months and take her back to the vet for another urine test to make sure this isn’t doing damage instead of good. i had researched online and couldn’t find any negatives articles on probiotics’ effects on kidneys, but i still plan to play it safe of course. i’m really glad to see chewy sells this. i happened upon it on a random search. i’ve looked for it specifically on here before but searching “cat probiotic” didn’t get it to the front of search results so i had missed it and purchased elsewhere. @chewy would you fix that? it feels more relevant of a search result than page 8 of 10 hidden among food labels. … more

  • Not so sure....

My fussy cats liked it just fine at first, but then they stopped eating the food with it mixed in. I fed less than an eighth teaspoon at first, then gave them the whole 1/8 teaspoon each. Now they won't eat canned food mixed with pet dophilus. My advice is to keep the portions really small.

  • Excellent!

My girl recently came down with Kennel Cough...ugh, and was even vaccinated, but compliments of doggy daycare, we had to fight off the nasty bug, and 10 days of potent antibiotics. I wanted to boost her immune system, even though she eats high quality food, enjoys her daily dose of organic coconut oil, raw honey, and has never been ill. Still, I wanted to ensure the antibiotics didn't wear her little system down, so I take this powder mixed with a bit of water, making a paste, and drop a little raw honey, and voila, it's like a bonus treat for my special girl...who is now very healthy after her first and last time of having Kennel Cough. No more doggy daycare for her and adios sickness! She wouldn't take to it when I added it to her food, so this is the only way she would gobble it up. … more

  • Works great!

The vet recommended this and I have been using it for years. I have a cat with intestinal issues and as long as I give him this with pumpkin fiber daily, he has no diarrhea. I am so happy that Chewy finally stocks this because now I can just add it to my regular order as needed. I also give it to my dog. It's great for general health!
