I really like this backpack, and I will buy more - we have 3 cats, and one of the girls just used it for a trip to the vet and peed inside :-(. The only thing I don’t like so far is that the pack hurts a bit due to the edge reinforcement of the panels - that hits me in the back. It’ll be fairly easy for me to fix by creating a larger surface, but I hope the manufacturer makes a small design change for future versions. Buddy loves the backpack and treats it as his safe place - which came in handy at a recent outing, when he fled from an unknown human (ohh-scary) to hide inside. Talking about treats - I get him into the pack with dental treats (which he loves), and give him treats inside the pack. He never complained being carried around for a few minutes when we used it at a recent cat-accompanied vacation. Now that SweetPea has peed inside the backpack and they are sold out here, I am a bit worried ;-)
My cat and I made it through several road trips with this bag semi successfully (she only escaped out into the car twice, and that was my bad for unzipping it half an inch to give her a treat). I was reasonably confident that it could contain her as long as I didn’t give her a tiny gap to shove her face though, until this morning. I turned my back for one minute and she managed to bust one of the zippers open and get out. Luckily we were still inside the apartment so she couldn’t get too far. So yeah, if your cat is pretty chill and okay with being contained, this bag is probably fine. If your cat is a viscous little escape artist like mine, I would look elsewhere. tl;dr If your cat has ever demonstrated any Houdini-esque escape tendencies you should not buy this bag.
My cat hates going outside but he’s going to now I got this. It’s honestly great it’s like a carrier but upside and has a leash inside to keep him secured. I recommend it’s also comfortable honestly feels like I’m not even carrying my chunky cat
I probably can't give a true rating yet because I haven't left the house with my cat in it, but here are my first impressions. It holds its shape nicely but there were several loose threads and a part where the mesh didn't line up with a seam properly. It's nice there are multiple entry points for kitty so you can try different things if one way is easier than another. However, there aren't really a lot of handles, so you pretty much either have to wear it like a backpack or carefully hold it from the handle at the top of the straps. There isn't a way to hold it like a duffel bag. However, it wasn't really tipping over when I just held it by the top handle. It's nice that you can remove the pads inside for cleaning. My cat is small (less than 8 lbs) and it was easy to carry her once she was inside. I don't think she likes it any more or less than the hard side plastic carrier I have used before. I bought this one because I live in a city and I felt this would be easier for me to use to get her to the vet on my own rather than the huge carrier. She had a decent amount of room inside to get comfy (but she was definitely not comfy because what cat is comfy in a carrier, lol). I only had her in there for a minute or two to test it, but the test seemed good. We'll see if I can get her more used to it so it's not a battle next time we have to go to the vet.
My cat doesn't seem to know if she likes it or not. It's definitely a huge upgrade from her previous carrier (the cardboard box from the shelter) and she looks comfy in it, however it's still a fight to get her inside. On my end, I love how sturdy this is and how it frees up my hands. Carrying her on my back also allows for a smoother journey for her
This backpack is such a life saver! First and foremost, I'm impressed by the quality of construction. The fabric is tough and there were no loose threads to be seen. The straps are comfortable, and buckles across the chest and waist make sure your precious cargo is secure on your back. Using this to get my cat to and from the vet means my hands are free to sign paperwork, and she gets less motion sick from swinging around in a bulky crate.
Looks nice, seems to be of decent quality. My only complaint is that it sits high up on your back. The hip strap does not really line up correctly. I have not walked with it very far yet but it might not be that comfortable for longer distances and/or with a heavy cat.
I bought this carrier about a year ago bc my cat had outgrown his other carrier. Before we just had the typical grey hard plastic carrier, but decided to look for one that was a bit more comfortable especially since he already isn’t the biggest fan of traveling. This is the best. carrier. ever. I use the straps to carry him on my front and he loves looking around. He can lay or sit up, look out the front or up top. It sits perfectly in a car seat. If you’re on the fence, use this as your sign to commit!!
This is the best thing we purchased for our new kitten. We have taken him on daily walks in it since we got it, and it makes vet trips a breeze. It's light, folds down nicely, and is super secure. I put a shoebox inside of it to act as a booster seat since he likes to look out the top. I docked 1 star because the belt strap buckle came broken, but honestly I've never worn this on my back, and always wear it in the front like a baby carrier, so it doesn't really matter too much. I'll probably just cut it off.
this carrier is amazing! I ended up using it to drive cross country with my cat and she loved it! she's pretty petite so she had enough space to stand up and stretch but spent most of the time just curled up sleeping. the mesh is pretty thick so it was hard to see her through it, usually I would just unzip it a little to peek at her, but I think that's part of why she liked it so much - it's pretty dark in there all zipped up which probably made her feel safe, but the multiple mesh openings let her see around her easily. as a backpack it is fantastic, the buckles on the front made it super stable and not shaky while I walked around and also took some of the weight off my shoulders and made it more comfortable for me to carry. I love that it has multiple openings too, I usually pick my cat up and put her in through the top and then let her venture out on her own through the front which seems to work well. it was definitely worth the money, it's super sturdy and well made and my cat loves it, I leave it out in my room and sometimes she naps in it like it's a covered bed! definitely recommend if you're on the hunt for a good backpack carrier
