The best purchase for our new kitten
This is the best thing we purchased for our new kitten. We have taken him on daily walks in it since we got it, and it makes vet trips a breeze. It's light, folds down nicely, and is super secure. I put a shoebox inside of it to act as a booster seat since he likes to look out the top. I docked 1 star because the belt strap buckle came broken, but honestly I've never worn this on my back, and always wear it in the front like a baby carrier, so it doesn't really matter too much. I'll probably just cut it off.
this carrier is amazing! I ended up using it to drive cross country with my cat and she loved it! she's pretty petite so she had enough space to stand up and stretch but spent most of the time just curled up sleeping. the mesh is pretty thick so it was hard to see her through it, usually I would just unzip it a little to peek at her, but I think that's part of why she liked it so much - it's pretty dark in there all zipped up which probably made her feel safe, but the multiple mesh openings let her see around her easily. as a backpack it is fantastic, the buckles on the front made it super stable and not shaky while I walked around and also took some of the weight off my shoulders and made it more comfortable for me to carry. I love that it has multiple openings too, I usually pick my cat up and put her in through the top and then let her venture out on her own through the front which seems to work well. it was definitely worth the money, it's super sturdy and well made and my cat loves it, I leave it out in my room and sometimes she naps in it like it's a covered bed! definitely recommend if you're on the hunt for a good backpack carrier
This is a cool backpack
We had tried Jackson Galaxy's bubble backpack, but my formerly feral cat managed to kick the bubble out and escape! This backpack is sturdy, big enough for my larger cat, and has numerous zippers. Until my cats develop opposable thumbs, I think this is a winner.
It's sturdy and my cat fits in it fine. I underestimated how limited the viewing mesh is and my cat keeps trying to look around. I'm going to have to find another backpack that has more side view.
Great cat carrier!
I am so happy with this purchase! My cat absolutely hates traveling and meows like crazy when we do, but once we got to the hiking location and she was in the pack, she hardly made a peep the whole hike! I’ve noticed for a while she really wants to be outside more and I’m so happy to have an efficient way to do so. The carrier is sturdy, spacious (holds my 15 lb chunker just fine lol), and seems to be great quality! Numerous pockets for entrance and viewing pleasure, and several buckled straps for support!
Big Kitty Loves It
I measured my big part-Maincoon kitten in his smallest curled up state before ordering this backpack. He fits! I spent a couple of weeks just tossing treats inside as rewards for other behaviors, then clicker-encouraged him when he stepped his front two paws inside one day. He got the hint and walked in! He got lots of treats for that. He was so pleased that he curled up and took a nap! It's a very sturdy design. We've only walked around the house so far, but it hold his weight fine. It's also comfortable to wear on my back or front. I love all the mesh - front and top panels, and two side windows. Over-all very happy!
I've now had this backpack in my house for two weeks. It STILL has a very strong chemical smell to it (from the foam in the bottom maybe?). The design is nice and sturdy; the frame doesn't collapse like other brands I've read about. I have no problem with the straps or the way the pack sits on my back, even when weighted - and I'm a *ahem* very well-endowed woman. Here's what I would change: the top mesh piece hangs down into the carrier when unzipped, but should be able to velcro flat to the back wall of the carrier so that the fuzzy passenger can peep out the top easily (there is a leash-like strap anchored inside, so that fuzzy passenger won't leap out). Also, while I like the tear-resistant mesh, it makes it tough for fuzzy passenger to see the big beautiful world out there, hence my desire for her to be able to peep out the top. I don't think I'd use the carrier without the front mesh zippered closed (see picture) because I don't think my fuzzy passenger would feel safe being that exposed and much more likely to fall or jump out - even with the aforementioned leash. She does like to play in the carrier in the comfort of the living room while the "front door" of the carrier is open and rolled up. Overall, if you can afford to spend more money on a carrier with one of those clear, window-bubbles in the front, do that. If not, this is a good, less expensive alternative.
Adventure Cat Approved
I spent a long time reading reviews of backpack carriers for cats before deciding on this one. I like how structured it is and the amount of venting. I don't worry about my cat lacking fresh air. My cat is 12 lbs and she fits in it very comfortably. There's a side pocket just big enough to stash her leash in. The straps are padded and wide enough that they're very comfortable on my shoulders. The backpack itself seems well constructed.
Perfect for walks/hikes/outings
This thing is the best! I especially love the leash inside that attaches to my girl's harness. Now I can take my daughter and her on walks together or to the farmer's market and I will also be using it for any vet trips. My kitty is a bit on the larger side and she fit in here nicely. The top unzips as well as the front side so she can poke her head out. The bottom padding is washable in case of accidents. Five stars!
Best backpack I've tried
When I was living on my college campus, I used to take my cat on walks with this bed. There's great ventilation for her and it's sturdy. She's about 13 pounds and has plenty of room to sit and lay. We use it for travel as well for 1-2 hour trips and to the vet.
