Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.
CHASE: Sure to give your dog a run for his money
ENTERTAIN: Ball-within-a-ball amuses during solo play
SWIM: Ideal for water based fun
This ball is made from hard plastic with a softer plastic ball inside. The holes are about 4 inches in diameter. My dog is a 57 lb English Shepherd/farm collie with TONS of energy. He grabs this ball and throws it around. Being hard plastic, if your dog is an aggressive chewer, it can become rough on the edges of the holes and cause cuts or abrasions in the mouth. Can be rough in hands too if you throw it. Something to keep in mind but aside from that, a fun toy that has lasted a good while so far.
We bought the smaller Jolly ball for our dogs for the pool thinking that it would be the sturdy plastic that the other ones are… well it is not our dogs had a huge chunk out of it within a few minutes. Our other jelly balls have held up for years very disappointed in the smaller ones we bought two of them ugh!
The first 5min brought great joy, and then it was over. The exterior plastic is so thin, any dog, not just strong chewers, are going to ruin this thing in short order. Once the teeth get into the plastic, which is how any dog will try to pick it up, it’s easy for edges to start getting sharp and pieces to break off (which obvious can then be swallowed). I think it used to be made with thicker plastic but they got cheap to save material. Unfortunate. Do not recommend, waste of money.
My dog quickly tore sharp pieces off of the edges of the holes. I was afraid the pieces would harm her so I threw it out. I have larger jolly pet balls that she has had for years. I think the walls of this ball are too thin to handle heavy chewing
After two years and daily all day long playing, his ball has about bit the dust. But he does play with it seriously all day long.
This Jolly Ball is made with the cheapest plastic ever. My older ball has thicker plastic. This is cheaply made.
Riley loves this toy, but unfortunately, what he loves most is chewing at it. I tried to discourage him from doing it, but I wasn't successful, so I had to take it away from him because of possible sickness or other issues.
I purchased the large red ball for my Heeler, but he had his own opinion and didn't play with it.... but my 6 mo. old Rottweiler absolutely loved it and it is one of his favorite toys. He is now 11 mos. and still is his go-to outdoor toy. This is a very durable toy.
Purchased for friend's Australian shepherd. She says it's his favorite.
The ball itself is fine but not a single one of my dogs will even touch it. So it was a waste of $11
