How does the canine 10 inch ball compare to the one sold for horses?

Jolly ball

The only ball that my German Shepherd loves. We have to cut the handle off since our Labrador retreiver tries to eat it. Once it is off they both love playing with the balls. I have 4inch and 6 inch balls. The dogs chase and retreive them. My daughter has a giant Weimeraner and he loves the balls too. I've tried other ones and they just don't like any other ball.

Ordered this for our large 5-month-old puppy who destroys everything quickly. I figured since they make toys for horses that this would be a little tougher and would last longer than some of the other toys we have purchased for her. Unfortunately, our pup had the handle chewed off in less than 30 minutes, then promptly lost interest. I do not recommend this toy for serious chewers.

Not Durable

I bought this for our 8 month old Miniature Australian Shephard as he loves playing catch and throwing balls. He loves this ball; however within 1/2 an hour he had a whole chewed in the handle and a piece of rubber chewed off. Luckily we were monitoring him and took the ball from him before he could swallow the rubber piece.

We bought these last winter when the snow got to deep for us to find her Kong Balls and she fell in love with them (she was just a few months old then)! We bought 2 to keep her running to get enough exercise, and they work great! She is now a much bigger girl and still loves to chase them. Even though she can occasionally grab the whole ball in her mouth, she usually catches them by the handle. They are far from worn out after twice a day exercise time for nearly 11 months!

Not so Jolly

Fern is my second strongest chewer. This ball was out of the package 15 minutes and she chewed a hole in the handle. We have had other Jolly products that are still at out home after several years. Just a warning if you have a serious chewer!

Cavalier King Charles loves this!

However, our 13 pound, 9 month old pup, had the handle chewed up within 30 minutes. But he carries it everywhere. We just keep trimming the debris away.

Great ball for dogs and humans

I live in a snowy climate. This ball is great for my young border collie to retrieve because of the handle and the color. Easy for me to throw because of size and again the handle.

Handle gone in 10 min

My cholate lab liked this toy the best out of my latest order, but she went right for the handle making short work of it. Now I have little pieces of red plastic to pick up,

Not For Chewers!

I didn't realize this is made of a plasticy-lightweight material. It says it's made of low density polyethylene, I just didn't read the description thoroughly enough, which is on me. With that said, my dogs almost immediately chewed the handle of. It took little to no effort, because it's hollow. Even just throwing it across the yard, it didn't last a day being carried back & forth. If your dog strictly fetches, this might work for them. If they chew at all, I don't expect it would hold up. I love other Jolly Ball products, but this one didn't live up to my expectations.

Great Toy!

My boston loves the jolly ball. He especially loves the chew on the letters. They are not raised like previous models which was disappointing but its still a solid toy.
