Cats do best if you switch cold turkey and avoid a long transition. If they don't eat after four meals, or one day, please feed them their regular food and then try again in a few days.
Yes. Each of our feline daily diets have gone through Evidence-Based Research at a major university. Since day one, we have balanced our food to National Research Council (NRC) standards. The NRC reports directly to the FDA and is the most up-to-date authority on nutritional guidelines. Our feline recipe is formulated to meet the 2016 AAFCO nutritional profiles for feline maintenance.
The easiest way to feed fresh is to get into a cycle of freezer to refrigerator to bowl. Remove the package from the freezer and defrost in the refrigerator (preferred), or immerse in cold water. Store in the refrigerator in a glass or plastic container and then serve the recommended amount. JustFoodForCats lasts for a year when frozen.
You want to think about your dog’s fresh food the same way you do your own. An hour, or even two is not going to be a problem, but if you accidentally leave it out overnight, it should be thrown away.
Does JustFoodForCats use any preservatives?
Our only preservative is the freezer. We do not add any preservatives at all.

I really love the idea of human-grade food for my cats. So I bought the smallest amount I could to try this. Unfortunately, my cats do not like it at all. I didn't realize how much fish was in this. My cats only like fish every once in a while. Plus, the constant fishy smell is rather strong and lingers in the house, which we humans don't like at all. I wish they offered an option with no fish or seafood. So, I'll be looking for different brand.
I just want to say that my cat is not a picky eater at all so I cant speak for cats with specific pallets. I wanted something more natural for my cats after doing a lot of research on natural foods. I liked that the brand said it had and love the idea of it being more natural than most canned meals. Sometimes she still gets belly aches but she has an extremely sensitive stomach and I have to mix her prescription food with it and she is fine again. Paloma and I are very Happy with this product!
Great product, seems super healthy for cats. Has a real good smell. My cats will usually eat it but sometimes won’t. It’s not cheap so I really encourage them to eat lol Finicky cats may not like. They are more apt to eat if they are a little hungry. It isn’t supposed to be left out for long periods of time so might be best to attempt to feed to cats and then don’t leave other food out.
I tried every which way suggested & they ate the food around it. Such good ingredients and they wouldn’t touch it. The ferals outside totally enjoyed it.
Squanch, my one brain celled saint, recommends this product. He is a very simple cat that doesn’t switch kibble well and refuses a lot of wet food, doesn’t prefer it at all. He as well had horrible deadly vaporous poops and this cured that, this reason was actually the cause of finding a new food. My god, the stench stings the nostrils still to this day.
My cat will not eat this. I had high hopes for feeding him something more nutritious.
This food saved my cats life prior to covid, in June of 2019 she had ibs and this was the only food that helped her tummy. After covid, the quality is not the same. After thawing, It smells so stinky. Smells like rotten meat. My other cat cannot digest it, she vomits it up. I do not recommend it anymore. On the hunt for another holistic/homemade cat food.
I had really hoped that this would be my solution to adding clean protein to my cats' diets. It might just be my cats, but they wouldn't touch it. I tried mixing a small amount into their wet food, but they refused it. It seems like it could be a great product if your cat will eat it. I appreciate that a company is making a product like this. Just didn't work out for us.
The quality of this food seems to be good and chewy of course continues to live up to a high standard on delivery. My semi picky eater isn’t a fan. Consistency wise this a bit thicker than is current food (Honest kitchen). I tried adding broths and some veggie purée but he picked around the pieces he licked and left this for the most part
I have 3 cats and I have tried to re-introduce them to better foods. This frozen food is one I am trying without luck on this product. My cats won’t go near a bowl with just a tiny bit alongside their normal canned food. I have also tried to give this to a couple of feral cats we care for but they too run the other way. For me this was a waste of money.
