How To Store & Serve
Storing
Store frozen food for up to 18 months in the freezer. Thawed food can be kept in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
Thawing in Fridge
(Recommended) 24 hours for 18 ounces of food and up to 48 hours for 72 hours of food.
Thawing in Cold Water
1 hour for 18 ounces of food and 3 to 5 hours for 72 ounces of food.
Serving
Place the appropriate amount of fully thawed food in your dog’s food bowl and serve!

Loki's New Favorite Food
My dog is picky when it comes to his food, and I can tell when he really likes something. I have never seen him react to a food like this! Each night when I take it out for his dinner, he gets so excited. He gobbles it up so quickly, and licks the plate till there's nothing left. I really like that it's good for him, and I know what he's eating is nutritious and not full of chemicals and preservatives. The variety of flavors are great, and he likes every kind. This is a new staple in my house, and I don't see that changing!
Great addition
I recieved this product free in exchange for my honest review. My poodle has gotten a bit bored of his dry food lately and I wanted to do something a bit healthier for him that would also keep him happy so I decided to give Just Food For Dogs a try. The packets barely take up any space in the freezer which is great and it is super easy to grab a few to throw in the fridge to thaw out for use. I did half dry food half FoodForDogs and that is the combo my dog loved best. He gets so excited when I make his meal and as soon as I set his bowl down he is happily eating away. I didn't have any issues with the addition to his usual meal as far as tummy troubles or anything so that made me happy. All in all it's a great product and wonderful nutritious addition to my dogs otherwise boring food.
My Dogs Love This
I received this product as part of a free product sampling. My dogs eat plain kibble so I was excited try this and add in real food. I used the Fresh Starter packs as a topper. One eats with no issues but my other girl is very picky. They both loved this food. They lick their bowls clean. They get excited when they see me get the packet out of the refrigerator. I like that Just Food only contains real meat and locally sourced fruits and veggies. I also like that there are no fillers, preservatives or artificial ingredients. They had no issues with any changes to their bowel movements after adding this to their diet. I feel good adding this to my dogs diet.
I feel GOOD about giving this to my dog
I received the "just for dogs" starter pack as part of a promotion. However, if it's not GREAT there's nothing that I could do to convince my dog to eat it. MY DOG LOVES THIS PRODUCT. In fact, he loves it so much he ate EVERYTHING in his bowl (additional cut raw carrots and kibble) time and time again. "Just for dogs" doesn't have a funky smell or texture. It's straight up pleasant to give to your pooch. And really, why would I give my dog something that I'm not willing to eat as well. It keeps well in the freezer thaws quickly, and keeps well in the fridge. Doesn't stink like a "pet food".
Not my dog’s favorite
This starter pack was not quite what I expected, beginning when I first opened the shipping box. I think I expected more of a cohesive “pack”, but it was just nine little food pouches inside a big cardboard box with a pamphlet that didn’t tell me anything about how to prepare the food or the proper serving sizes. Also, one of the pouches was completely shredded, like a wild animal had been loose in the box. I wonder if maybe the dry ice froze it and the plastic packaging just shattered. I threw that one away, so immediately I was down one pouch. The packages are also not resealable, so I open one when it’s frozen and immediately move the contents to a food storage container, and then I place that in the fridge to defrost. If you defrost the food in the original plastic pouches, it become difficult to remove. The food itself has noticeable pieces of vegetables, which is nice, though the overall texture is kind of chunky and unpleasant. My dog will eat the food after some coaxing, but it’s not his favorite. He hasn’t had any stomach upset, though, so that’s a plus. I received this product for free via BzzAgent in exchange for my review.
This food is really great, my dogs loved it
I noticed the itching in my blue nose Pitbull decrease immediately the day after using this food for 2 meals. I received this as a promotional item for review & while my dogs loved this food a lot I could not justify repurchasing this food when the grocery store carry’s FreshPet for $23 a bag and we get about 12 meals each for my dogs out of it. We were feeding my dogs half a pouch of just for dogs each (they are 90+lbs) and it would almost triple the price to feed my dogs for the same amount of time with this food. Overall this is great food if you only have one dog or you are able to afford it.
Just Fabulous
I was presented with an opportunity to try this product as part of a free sample program, so I was hestitant due to past experiences with fresh dog food. I will have to say I was pleasantly surprised! I have found with other fresh pet food that it tends to spoil quickly once the package is opened as it's kept in the refrigerator. I was very happy when I saw this food is kept in the freezer and I only had to thaw out the food I planned to use for that date. My dog was fed the entire package, so there was no worry about spoilage of an opened package. She loved the variety of flavors as well. The price point was the best in comparison to fresh, human grade pet food I have seen on social media. If you're on the fence about fresh pet food, please consider Just Food and neither you nor your pet will regret it!
Perfect for picky eaters
I have a dog that is the pickiest eater with no topper or food being enjoyed longer than a couple days. That is until we tried JustFoodForDogs! I have been mixing it into his dry food for over 2 weeks and he adores it! And I can tell how good it is for him based off how soft his coat is. If you have a picky eater, or even a chow hound, I would highly recommend this food. I received mine for free I’m exchange for an honest review but I am off to purchase some now.
Dog loved it but his stomach couldn’t handle it.
My dog is a finicky eater. So I thought it would be a great idea to introduce some of this food and she has hard food in order to get him to eat. I did the recommended proportion of a quarter size mixed with his normal food. He loved it and ate it so quick however, at night time you could tell he wasn’t feeling right. He ended up repeating it all over the place I try to get in the next time and he seemed OK then by the third time the same thing was happening after one week he still doesn’t seem right so I’m thinking that there was something in it that he has an allergy to other than that the food looks appetizing and my dog loved it.
New favorite meal!
This is Winchester. He can be very picky with his food! The scones this box came in the mail he could smell it. He went RIGHT after his bowl when typically, he’d side eye me if there wasn’t fresh meat! I’m so happy with how carefully they packaged this, it was all still frozen solid when it arrived. It makes feeding time so much easier for us! He particularly loves the beef. I would absolutely recommend this to all my friends and family! A happy dog is a happy life.
