We feed the DIY Just Food For Dogs meals to our Shepherd, and although I love this product for the quality and the fact it combines 4 different sources of omega fats, (and our dog and cats love it!), the packaging is horrible. It should really be a pump, a squeeze bottle for fish oil is messy and annoying. Whether I try to squeeze it onto food or measuring spoon, or remove top to pour into measuring spoon, it drips down the sides and the bottle quickly becomes a sticky, smelly mess. I will continue to purchase, and highly recommend the product, but I'm on the hunt for a pump attachment that fits. Please fix this one flaw, and provide a pump!
We typically use the Optima fish oil but it’s been out of stock. We tried this but my dog refused to eat his food with this in it :(
Great product because it is nothing but fish oils ... no preservatives or other additives. Just wish they would package in glass instead of plastic that can leach toxins.
My 3 yr old mutt was diagnosed with elbow arthritis which has caused her to limp after most forms of play. When we took her to an orthopedic vet, they said that at this point preemptive Carprofin before strenuous activity, supplemental fish oil and some weight loss was the best route of treatment. The level of EHA and DHA recommended was about 4000mg combined. Because I didn’t want to give my pup diarrhea with excessive levels of oil, I searched high and low for a concentrated supplement. This is the ONLY one I found. It isn’t obnoxious smelly (but there is still some smell), my pup loves it, and most importantly, I have not had to give my pup Carprofin in 3 weeks! She is down a few pounds, and I also give a glucosamine joint supplement (things we were working on/doing before). But the fish oil is the biggest difference. 10/10. I am buying consistently. Definitely would recommend.
I add this to the DIY recipe from Just food for dogs it is good for a variety of issues skin coat joints etc.
I've gone through several"hair/skin" products before. Powders, chewies, oils, treats, foods. My two huskies hated most of them, and barely tolerated the rest. Other oils smell HORRIBLE, and make my dogs think it's a dead thing they can roll in. They actually like this one, and they don't try to roll in it! This is a picky-eaters best friend!!!
Gave Hazy a wonderful shinny coat and is healing her of her dry skin.
This has made a world of difference in my German Shepard’s skin and coat! His shedding has almost stopped completely and his coat is so soft.
High quality oil. I use this as part of mine just food for dogs homemade recipe but could be used as a stand-alone daily fish oil for your dog.
