would be 5 stars if not for the cost
Our two rescues love this food! They love most foods in general, but they are much more excited to eat this than anything we’ve given them, including home cooked food. I love that it has HEALTHY grains! This grain free fad is so bad and so pervasive that it’s really hard to find quality foods that won’t increase my girls’ chances of cardiomyopathy. Our 12 year old seems to have a little more energy and her lifelong dry, flaky, itchy skin is gone and her fur has become soft and silky like it should be. She also used to feel quite bloated and uncomfortable after eating and would spend an hour or so trying to feel better but she hasn’t had much of that since we changed foods and the times she has were due to too many treats lol. If you have a pupper who is struggling with stomach or skin problems, try it! I’m looking to supplement their lunch portion simply because of the cost, but they’ve been loving their JFD food for two straight months. We also alternate this with the lamb and brown rice—equally as good, just without the skin and joint benefit.
Healthy and dogs love
I have two corgis and they are usually on daily joint supplements to just help with their tiny corgi legs and hips, as historically this breed can have issues. I noticed my older girl getting slower recently, not much, just a small observation. Ive heard that food can also be medicine, for everyone, and so I saw this just food for dogs with joint health support and was really excited for my dogs to try this. I have always heard good things about JFFD, and now this new type of food doesn’t have to be kept frozen. Which is a plus for my household, and much more reasonable for our lifestyle. To start, the appearance of this food, it looks like actual food; something someone would cook that day. It smells like actual food; it smells pretty appetizing to be honest. The dogs love it! When I say they went nuts for this food, I’m not exaggerating. They aren’t usually fast eaters, more like grazers, but this made them excited every day to have. I truly feel like they enjoyed it and I notice a spring in my girls step now. She seems to want to play more.
Real Food!
I have a 66 pound mixed breed dog who is my baby I was excited when I read the ingredients. It was actually made of real food! When I opened the package I was very pleased to see that all of the ingredients were easily recognizable and nothing like that gelatinous mush that you get with other wet dog food. My dog tires of foods quickly however and loved the food the first couple times he ate it but then decided he did not want anymore. Maybe if I had a variety of flavors to rotate that would not happen. This is what he does and is not a reflection on Just Food for Dogs. The only other issue is It can be expensive if you have a big dog to feed but it is quality food. I received this product at no cost to me in exchange for my unbiased review.
All Dogs Deserve The Best!
Let's get the bad news out of the way-this stuff is pricey! The price is what keeps me from giving JustFoodForDogs five stars, as many will not be able to afford it. One way to minimize the cost is to use JustFoodForDogs as a"topper" on dry food, or alternate with kibble. Our golden retriever has skin allergies-and this summer has been brutal for her. We tried supplements and CBD oil, but her itching persisted. Since feeding her JustFoodForDogs (as this is a new addition to her diet we are gradually introducing it-mostly as a topper on kibble), I have noticed she is scratching much less. To us, that is worth the price! Just as people are looking for no artificial ingredients or preservatives in our food, if you want the same for your dog JustFoodForDogs is the answer. And for pets with skin issues or allergies, this is gold! I received this product as part of a free sample program.
Amazing product
Let me start by saying I received this product as part of a free sample program and I’m super happy I did. My 2 year old pup LOVED IT! I normally have him sit and wait in his bed while I fill his bowl with kibble and he’ll decided if he wants to eat or not. With the Just food for dogs he couldn’t wait to eat it, and would lick his bowl clean when there was nothing else. He would cry if I was taking to long to get it to his food stand. I love the fact that it was fresh and had veggies. Not to mention his bowel movements were regular and appeared to be healthier vs when he poops with kibble. I would definitely buy the product. I have already recommended it to others. As mentioned, I received it as part of a free sample program I would’ve loved to have tried a different kind of food vs the joint and skin support. Only because my baby is 2 and already has a healthy coat. When I think of joint and skin support I think of older pups. None the less he loved it and if he’s happy, I’m happy!
Fresh food for a happy pup
First of all I have always been a kibble kind of dog mom so this was my first time trying out JustFoodForDogs and let me say I was impressed! I have a very finicky dog and I thought she would not like this but she loved it. This food was eaten up and she even licked the bowl. As the dog mom I found that the food was very nicely packaged, it had a feeding chart on eat box which was clear and helpful. The food didnt smell like dog food it smelled like fresh vegetables. My dog is still a young girl and I like that this formula was for joint and skin support. I found that her skin had no flakes and her fur was very shiny and soft. Day after day my lil girl was happy to see me pull out the JustFoodForDogs out of the refrigerator. I overall gave this 5 stars because of the quality, the smell and the happiness my dog felt when eating I. I would recommend this food to any pup owner as well as my friends and family. I received this product as part of a free sample program.
Good enough for us to eat
We have 5 dogs and 3 cats. That's a lot of pet food. We received this product as part of a free sample program. Here's what we thought: The food looked good, smelled good and made me feel good about feeding it to them. Quinoa and vegetables made me think I made food instead of just supplying a dry meal. Our pets all of them ran over once we opened it, the smell alone. Everyone wanted some, even our little ones would eat in one sitting and not graze throughout the day. The only complaint we would have and thus why the less than 5 star rating is the cost. Our 3 - 70 pound dogs would need 3 boxes each meal. It was great for our dachshunds because 1 box covered 2 of them but for large breeds it is not cost effective.
Dogs didn't like
We received our shipment, and since the boxes had quite a bit of food, we split between our two dogs. The two dogs enjoyed for about 2 days. My border collie started chewing her paw and was having a reaction. My Belgian malinois opted to stop eating when this was placed in front of him. We've gone back to their normal food. DOGS LOVED IT
We were excited to try this new food that we were blessed with the chance to sample. I have 2 dogs and one is a young pup, while my little one is a bit older. Not only could they hardly contain themselves when it came time to feed them, but I caught the younger one ripping into a box during the night because he clearly didn't get enough ( make sure you put this stuff away up high). Both their energy has been great and my older dog seems both peppy and less itchy like he always was! Recommended.
Apparently tasty
I was fortunate to get this product for free through bzzagent in exchange for my review. While I can't necessarily tell if this has helped Bosun's joints, I can certainly tell that he LOVES the taste. He got so excited for dinner time and gobbled it right up. He's a big fan for sure. The only downside of the food is the price point - it's relatively expensive for dog food, but you can tell the quality is there.
