Excellent Choice
My dog requires a lower protein diet. The selection of low protein food is very limited and I was elated when I found this food. My dog really enjoys the quality human grade ingredients and I can stop reading labels.
Dogs Love It
I have 2 dogs who are highly deserving of good yummy food, and they both were very happy with this! Each time I'd get it out they got so excited and couldn't wait to eat! I found it to smell and look good too, which makes me feel better about giving it to them. If I could afford it, I would definitely try to always have some in my home for them. I actually like the packaging because I dont have to worry about it leaking. For the ones I may not be able to tear, and my husband isn't around to open, I just use kitchen scissors, no big deal. I also use a fork or spoon to get all of it out of the package, that's very simple to do. To slow my boys down from gobbling it all up within a few seconds, I spread it out so they have to take a little more time to eat. They didnt seem to get upset tummies with this either, no gas which is awesome especially for my one who is sensitive to way too many things. If you can afford to, I would definitely recommend giving this a try. I didnt switch their diets to it, but use it as an extra yummy addition to one of their meals. For my dogs, one is about 50lbs, the other is about 70lbs, I would use 1 carton between them, giving the bigger dog a little more. They love it and I feel confident feeding it to them. I received this product as part of a free sample program.
Yummy for your pup's tummy
We received this product originally as a free sample. My dog Leah loves this stuff! She's getting older and has become more picky about what she wants to eat. This made finding food for her difficult. That was not the case however the first time we gave her this food. She devoured it and it was very happy to eat it on a daily basis. It's good for her and we also know that she's getting the nutrition and filling her tummy like she needs to help her be a happy and healthy dog for many more years to come. We will definitely be continuing to buy this product!
Real Food that my Shepsky Loves!
I'm not sure who was more excited, me giving this to my dog when we received this product as part of a free sample program. I usually feed my 70 lb. shepsky high quality dry food dog food but am always looking for a different healthy option for her. Given her weight I would have to feed her 2 cartons per meal but I decided to add this an almost treat in addition to her regular food. I would instead feed her 1 carton a day often during dinner time. She would get noticeably when I was preparing this meal for her and would quickly clean her bowl, unlike other feedings. I loved that she enjoyed it so much and that it is human-grade food. My biggest complaint is that the smell of the food upon opening the carton leaves a lot to be desired but I can manage through for the happiness of my dog. I would definitely consider getting this again for my dog as she really seemed to enjoy it and made me feel good feeding it to her.
Mixed Feelings
I received a sample 12pc case to try in exchange for my honest opinion and I have mixed feelings. I loved the list of ingredients and was excited to try it. At first I liked the packaging and really appreciate the easy-to-read feeding guidelines. It was fairly easy to open, but was a little difficult to get all the food out. My opinion changed on the packaging the next day after it was refrigerated. It was incredibly hard to get the food out. I ended up having to stick my hand into the package to scoop it all out. Not exactly a fun experience with cold dog food all over my hand. As to the food itself, I fed it to my 7 month old Boston terrier. She is very picky eating wet food, but the first time I offered it she devoured it fast. She ate it fine for dinner a few days. But by the fourth day she was reluctant to eat it and only finished a few bites, then threw up. The fifth day she had a few bites and then threw up again. Not sure what the deal was but she was fine going back to her old food for dinner. I have 2 Dalmatians and used the remainder of the food to mix in with their dry food and they loved it. They both ate every bite and were sad when we ran out. They had no issues with the food like our boston. The ingredients in this are great and for dogs with food sensitivities this would be perfect. Overall I am happy I was able to try it.
Happy Pup!
I received samples of Just Food for Dogs in exchange for an honest review. My pup is always fairly excited to eat, but was absolutely ecstatic once she tried the Lamb & Brown Rice recipe! She cleaned her bowl after each meal - so clean you would think she had never been fed! I feel the only downside to this particular brand would be the serving size. My Luna is a bully mix, and sits at a healthy 60 pounds, which means she needs at least 2 to 3 pouches per meal. Because of this, I would only consider purchasing the product as a treat in addition to her normal meals. Otherwise, this product would have received 5 stars!
Wow this is amazing stuff
Our little man is 14 years old and he has vestibular disease. We didn’t fully transition him to this, however we have added about a fourth of the box to his normal food twice a day. To say he seems like a new dog is an understatement. He does the zombies and JUMPS when it’s time to eat. With his vestibular disease, he was left unable to jump up and down and never got excited about anything. It had changed him. With this food, he is back to his old self. It’s amazing to see the spunkiness in him again! We did receive this free in return for an honest review. However, I placed my first order and will continue to place orders. This food has changed his little life and gave him his light back. So thank you!!
The Lamb and Rice recipe is wonderful!
I received this food to try as part of a free sample program. I have a four year old Australian Shepherd and I have always cooked her food myself, from a vet approved recipe. I usually make one month of food at a time, but it is very time consuming and labor intensive. I wanted to try this food to be able to take a break from cooking dog food sometimes. I was really pleased to see that the food comes in shelf stable boxes. Each box I received was good for almost a year. When I cut open the box, I was super happy to see big chunks of meat and veggies and it smells really good, just like a stew I would cook for my family. I tried the lamb and brown rice recipe, and I will definitely be buying it in the future. Highly recommend this fresh dog food!
Loved It!!
I received a case as part of a free sample program. My dog loved this food. I mixed it in with his dry food, and he ate every last bite. He put on some healthy weight, seemed to have more energy, and was generally a happier pup if possible. Usually, when there is a change in his diet, there is a change in his stool, but there wasn't this time until he went back to his normal food that there was a slight looseness. We had fully intended to buy this product and keep it as his new diet, but we, unfortunately, can't afford a case a week at this time.
Great Food
I received this product as part of a free sample program. My two dogs love it. My senior dog love this flavor. My puppy stayed at the bowl until it was gone. It also has real ingredients not just by products. The only downside is the packaging. It is supposed to be easy to tear to open and some were while others we had to cut open and it does tend to stick to the inside as well.
