    Works for me!

    By on

I've had many flea Combs through the decades and this one is the best so far. I have other JW grooming tools and I especially like the handles on all of them. Great for arthritic fingers to grip. Yes, one of the times did slightly bend, but I expect that when using it on 2 very hairy Golden Retrievers. I just make sure I thoroughly brush them first before passing the flea comb through them to minimize the bent tines. It does a great job of removing fleas, flea dirt and dead skin. Highly recommend.

Flea comb? NO!!! Grooming tool? Maybe.

The gaps between the JW Pet Gripsoft 'Flea Comb' comb tines are too big, the comb does not catch anything except giant granddad fleas. The tines are not all parallel in the comb I received, there are some v-shaped spaces so that makes it even harder to catch anything! I tested three different types of flea comb recently and I recommend that you do not spend money on this JW comb, the other two combs picked up lots of flea dirt and medium/small fleas that this JW comb missed. The JW comb would be okay-ish as a grooming tool as the handle is comfortable, but the tine spacing may be a problem. Wrong title

I bought this for my big dogs not for fleas but ticks. Tiny dear ticks aren't picked up with typical wider teeth tick combs. After a return from the woods there are plenty of ticks crawling over them. They get treated with Bravecto or something like that for fleas and ticks but it won't kill ticks until they've been on dogs for a time. Also, the handle is excellent for combing through thicker hair because you get a better grip than most others.

    Not a Good Purchase

The teeth on this flea comb bent out the very first time I used it on my cat. Chewy refunded my account right away but I would not recommend this comb to anyone.

    I like this comb!

I just moved to the Midwest from Colorado, so this whole flea thing is very new to me. Unfortunately, the preventative flea & tick treatment the vet in Colorado overcharged me for- kept the ticks off of her.. but when my dog started scratching like crazy, apparently not the fleas! I was distraught when I figured it out and ordered this comb on Chewy along with a new F&T treatment and they got it to me the very next afternoon. Thank heavens, because, yep... turns out she did have fleas on her, poor thing. The treatment helped immensely and the comb pulled out the ones hiding in her fur. I like the soft handle, and she actually really likes being combed with it. No problems here for how new all I just moved to the Midwest from Colorado, so this whole flea thing is very new to me.
