Description

Stop dog attacks before they happen with the K-II Enterprises Dazer II Ultrasonic Deterrent Dog Trainer. This device uses the latest ultrasonic technology to produce a discomforting, but not harmful, high-powered sound that stops the approach of unwanted dogs up to 20 feet. The sound is not audible to humans but works to ward off unwanted dogs when out for a walk, jog, on your bicycle or anywhere there might be aggressive dogs. This deterrent is also great for training dogs to stay off furniture or out of areas where they aren’t allowed. The lightweight, high-impact plastic is durable and the belt clip attaches easily for hands-free use.

Instructions

Operation as a Deterrent:

Point the silver disc front of the Dazer towards the animal for best results. The Dazer's output is directional and therefore the effectiveness is reduced when used at an angle. It is often more effective to use 1 or 2 second repeated bursts rather than a constant activation. Although the animal will hear the high-frequency sound at 20 feet or more, it is most effective and discomforting at 5 to 15 feet. Many experts agree that to avoid contact with unwanted dogs, it is best to face the approaching animal, not to turn and run. They also caution not to stare at the animal. The Dazer will help the user to maintain a safe zone and avoid the unwanted animal.

Operation as a Training Device:

The Dazer can be used in training and conditioning situations such as quieting barking dogs, keeping pets off furniture and to reinforce commands. The Dazer should be used from a distance of 5 feet or more for best results. The Dazer should be used in conjunction with normal verbal or hand commands as reinforcement or to interrupt bad behavior. As in all training, follow standard repetition cycles and positive reinforcement practices. Note: upon the first use your pet may regress from the area entirely. This reaction is not unusual and is a result of animal recognizing the sound and its intensity. The sound is not physically harmful to the animal.

    Demand barking stopped immediately!

By BarksNoMore on Jan 4, 2021

We love our dog. A lot. But we hated the demand barking. Our dog got into this really bad habit where she would bark at us if we didn't pay attention to her. We talked to our dog trainer who taught us to tell her "too bad!" and then walk away until she got the idea that we wouldn't accept it. Well, it kind of worked. She would stop barking, but when we sat back down she would start barking again. We did this for over a year, but it never fully worked. Finally, I realized we needed reinforcements. We really didn't want to get to this point, but being renters we had no other choice. We weren't about to be threatened to give her away or get evicted so I got this training tool and wow did it work We love our dog. A lot. But we hated the demand barking. We really didn't want to get to this point, but being renters we had no other choice. We weren't about to be threatened to give her away or get evicted so I got this training tool and wow did it work. When she started barking at us, I said "too bad" and then pushed the button real quick. She scurried around a little frightened and then right onto my lap and totally stopped that night. The next night she did it again so I did the same thing. This happened for a few more nights (so four nights total) and then when I said "too bad" on the fifth night without pushing the button, she just went straight to my lap and has stopped demand barking since. I haven't had to use the device for over two weeks now. The demand barking has totally stopped and saved us from being evicted. It worked for us! I think by using a phrase or word like "quiet" or "too bad" before pushing the button is key. I would highly recommend this product to people who are at the end of their rope with problematic barking with the advice to find a word or phrase to use before pushing the button. So then you can get to a point, hopefully quickly like we did, where you don't have to use the device anymore. We are just so happy. … more

    worked like a charm!

By Stacy on Oct 24, 2020

First let me say, I think these type of devices either work for your dog, or they don’t, period. In my case it worked better than I could have imagined. I click it only once and say “stop” at the same time hoping I will develop a response that in the future I won’t even need the device. My dog stops IMMEDIATELY and runs over to me and sits nice. He definitely doesn’t like it and has learned quick. I have a 100lb male golden retriever. Good luck! Hope your dog responds to it the way mine did. Btw... tried it on my neighbors yeipy dog (who in my opinion gets my dog going) and it does not work on that dog...

    Quieter times

By Palma on Jul 21, 2020

We have had one of these in the past, but had to purchase another one because the other stop working. Guess battery. Needed a new one because when I moved to a new house, had several neighbor dogs that always barked when they came outside. After 2 uses, this device almost silenced them. Also use on my dog, to stop her from going near that area of the fence!

    Used to Deter Barking

By Ginny on Jun 19, 2020

I'd have to say it's been more affective than not. We've used the command "QUIET" along with activating the Dazer. She stopped immediately. After about 5 days, I wasn't sure she was hearing it. If she slips and starts to bark, her reaction is less obvious. However, I have to say 80% of the barking has stopped. She definitely is responding to 'QUIET" without using the Dazer. I've tested it while she's napping and she'll pick up her head, so I guess she still hears it.

    Works Well With Beagles!

By Beaglegal on Jun 4, 2020

This handheld device was well worth the price! It immediately stops my beagles from barking, doing something they shouldn’t—like rolling in something stinky, eating who knows what they’ve spotted on the ground, or even taking off). I only use it when a command does not work. I’ve only needed to use it a few times, as they learned quickly to respond to a command rather than hear the sound. I also reward them when they respond appropriately. Now, I have heard that some dogs may not respond. It may be that they are an older dog with subsequent hearing loss due to old age. Not sure why some younger dogs might not respond. Also, if it’s overused, they may acclimate to it.

    Works Well

By Steele on Sep 20, 2020

We have used an earlier model of this device for several years. We have a large yard and it will get the dogs attention even across the yard.

    Disappointing

By Annie on Jun 1, 2020

I have a smaller dog at our dog park. Other dogs have been dive bombing him. I wanted something that I could stop that behavior because other people can't manage their dogs at times. It really doesn't work effectively. My own dog is not at all affected by it. I really needed this to work.

    Worked like a charm

By Radar on Feb 27, 2020

I have 3 German Shepherds that are inside/outside dogs. Marley is 6 years old, Bear is 4 years old and Scooby is 3 years old and is the son of Marley and Bear. Bear and Scooby don't get along very well (not fighting) just mostly barking. I have used this item about 3 days and they are now quiet as a mouse. Best thing ever for barking (for no reason) dogs.
