Feed at a rate of no more than 10-15% of the diet in addition to a complete feed.
The last two bags of scratch were full of beetles and I’ve had chickens for 11 years and have not had this problem. Threw them out. Will go to another brand.
I have an army of fat ladies I let free range in my garden to help with pest I like giving them a scoop of this with their other stuff It helps keep them a lil chunky cause I like em thiccc
Decent price - free delivery - chooks really like it.
Like a lot of products, the price of this has just gone up way too high…. over $10 since December. So I bought a food dehydrator and located a good butcher shop. I should’ve done this years ago.
Good scratch to give as a treat, not as main source of diet. It's should be more than 10% of what the chickens eat.
I’ve been using this feed for a long time now and I’ve never had any problems but my last couple of orders was filled with little black bugs and it’s not bad for the chickens but eventually those little black bugs will make the feed stink -there needs to be some quality control and then there was a past order where I got a bag of scratch that was filled with some type of pricker weed seed if my chickens don’t eat that and it gets put to the compost pile now I have an invasive weed seed going crazy so between little black bugs and pricker Bush sticker seeds-something is definitely up with quality control but because it’s the only feed within my budget I’m still a loyal customer. Ps if it happens to me again I am taking pictures for my next review.
Product delivered quick but poor delivery service. Product is excellent upon opening and will be purchasing again.
The mix is good , but it was full of little bugs, I know still good, and the chickens will eat the bugs, but I'm not happy to deal with those little creatures. I know this could happen every now and them, I just wish I had bought it at the store so I can take it and exchange it. For this matter I decided not to continue buying chicken feed online.
After buying for 30 years from my local feed store...I decided to try feed from Chewy. So sorry I didn’t try this feed sooner. You can just look at it and see the quality of feed. Of course my chickens love it. Totally recommend. Over 30 years of raising poultry I’ve learned something.
What I received was more along the lines of a chick feed. Some kind of crumble. I'm used to scratch grains looking like actual seeds/grain. I didn't discover this until after I opened the bag, so I didn't file a complaint. My birds were kinda like... what's this? They did eventually eat some of it.
