I have not had the opportunity to take my pet on a flight and make sure this pet carrier follows all the requirements per airline. I hope it does. My pet fits comfortably in there and has been to a room for him to move. I have a miniature dachshund. Sadly when I removed the bottom of the bed carrier which has the wheels, I noticed a button is missing so it came defected. I think for the price of the carrier there should not be any missing parts.
I wanted to like this carrier - it is lightweight, rolls easily and I thought it was "airline approved". Things have changed at the airlines, though. I got up to the ticket counter and they weighed my dog inside the carrier - even though there are no weight requirements to ride in the cabin. The only requirement now is that it fit under the seat. However, according to American Airlines, they pulled out a tape measure and measured it height and width and said it wouldn't fit. I could not easily pull off the wheels, but they said it still didn't meet requirements even if I could get the wheels off. I even had first class tickets but they said the requirements were the same no matter where you sat on the plane. So unfortunately, I did not get on my flight and had to pack up the car and drive 10 hours (I wasn't going anywhere without my precious companion dog - even if I had to drive). I don't know if I just got a jerk at the AA window or if they are just being super conservative now. I tried to tell him it would collapse part of the way down but he said it didn't matter. Needless to say, I am fighting with AA now to get a refund.
My dog although being a small dog was not very comfortable in it. We used it to take her to the vet, and I think that's the only time we will be using it. In addition, the handle got stuck in the flat position and it would not elevate and when I played with it and finally got it to elevate it was hard putting it back to it's original position. Maybe for a smaller dog, but not for my Dachshund.
At first my cat was not happy about the new carrier but after the vet she quieted down and even curled up for nap. All the adults saw me around town with my kitty all day and commented how much they all admired my carrier. I told everyone I ordered it on Chewy.
