I needed a cage to replace what my ferret came with. This one was a great price and is super spacious for her. The ladder does pop off sometimes which is unfortunate, the clips eventually bent and got too loose. The rest of the shelves are great, well placed and plenty of room to hang several beds. The bottom is deep enough to hold in her litter with very little mess and it’s great to have on wheels for cleaning. The doors are pretty tricky to open at first and require a little bend in the bars to make for easier opening for my kids.
She’s super secure, hasn’t gotten a single paw stuck and my cats can’t get through the bars to steal her food either. Definitely recommend.

Other than the cage being hard to put together due to it being plastic clips it honestly is a great cage for ferrets. Also you have to bend the hinges on the doors to get them to open easily, but my two ferrets are very happy with this new home. Great size and fun colors
Good for price

Doors open too easily, ladder part keeps coming off and shelves too close together
DONT GET FOR RATS
on May 29, 2020
it was hard set up, and the rats would go through the wires too easy
Not for small animals

This has been an ok cage, but i recently bought two baby rats and they squeeze through the bars with no problem. Its also not very good for hanging stuff up for your pet. Theres no way to hang unless from the top, and the setup doesnt allow for rearranging anything.
Do not get this

The reason this gets two stars is well because it was a last min option and it came in handy, but the ramp doesn’t even stay connected the slide keeps falling off,
It’s not easy to quick clean at all , i don’t recommend The doors just fall off when you open them it’s also a eye sore

The cage wire is cheaply made and so is the plastic parts that come with the cage. The slide broke off the first time in use .my ferret is not heavy at all for the slide to pop off that easy. We had to super glue it so it would stop popping out off place. For that price it shouldnt be so cheaply made. Was very disappointed.
BOT FOR RATS AMD HAMSTERS
on Jun 9, 2019
Not for rate or hamsters, I have. Rat that I still keep inside he is big enough to stay inside but my other adult rat has to be kept elsewhere now cuz of constantly escaping
The plastic snaps do not fit

I just received my new cage, and the majority of the plastic, snap-together pieces do not fit. The metal cage does not seem secure and the quality is very poor. Find a new cage
Unexpectedly great. I plan on buying more.

Honestly, I didnt expect a great cage for the price listed. I was looking at a temporary fix until I could buy a more expensive one. The cage arrived and was easy to assemble by myself without any tools, however a box cutter or scissors would be beneficial and if you have a smaller animal then zip ties for the corners are a good idea. The bottom pan is surprisingly sturdy and I am positively in love with the casters. I like that this cage would fold down as easily as a dog kennel for storage, and I really like that there are doors on top and on the side for complete cleaning access without disassembly. On to the less than great bit: any animal using a multilevel cage should have bars with more narrow spacing than this. A large ferret, chinchilla, or an XL male rat would do okay, but normal rats or ferrets will slip right through. The shelves ARE plastic so for chinchillas they absolutely must be replaced, but my rats don't chew a great deal so this was a non issue. It came with the 3 shelves and hammock, all of which worked exactly as expected. The tubes and ramps could use a bit better planning I think....but Honestly I just took them out and am not going to bother using them. A wooden bird ladder or cheap braided cotton dog leashs work just as well for rats to climb up and I got frustrated with them and didn't want to mess with them anymore. That being said, I do plan on purchasing 2-3 more of these for my rats so that i can separate them by gender and size. For the smaller ones, go to a hardware or tractor store and pick up some fine hardware cloth. $15 should buy you all that you'd need. Cut it into sections with a cheap set of wire cutters and then zip tie it to the bars to create smaller bar spacing. This may not be as aesthetically pleasing as the mpre expensice ones, but it is more than $100 cheaper to buy this one and alter it so that is what I'll be doing. All in all, sturdy, lightweight, pieces fit together well, fantastic price. Will %100 be buying a few more. (The casters are a tight fit, avoid using a hammer so that they don't crack. The fit makes it a fairly smooth roller though so to me it was worth it.)… more
