not to bad

I had ordered this hoping it would stop my hamster constantly taking his food out and hiding it, as well as my gerbil burrowing her food. I ended up losing about a week's worth of food on my hamster, he was able to dig it all out. It does work good for my gerbil, besides the little lip she still covers.

To small for big hamster

It is to small for my daughters teddy bear hamster. His head will get caught.

So far, so good

Adopted a middle age hammy yesterday. She came with a Tiny Tails cage (all of the "Habitrail" type cages ARE sufficient, IF you combine them... currently in the process of doing that). I went to get some extra tubes and accessories and found this. Different brand, but they all work together. Love it. It has one minor flaw in that it's a bit heavy when filled and kinda leans out (I did attach it with a Tiny Tail connecting ring). No prob, some clear Gorilla tape strips around the ring, all good.

I'd recommend it

It works, my only recommendation is to add it to the cage before getting your critter. It seemed to be confusing for my hamster when I took her food bowl out.

No recommended

The food easily falls out of container, making a mess in the cage

LUKA GOT STUCK IN THIS

I have 3 hamsters in 2 Kaytee Crittertrail cages that I LOVE. I thought this would be a great wait to make sure my boys always had food. However. They would pull all the food out of it throwing it on the bottom of the cage to dig out what food they wanted out of it - making a huge mess and wasting food. THEN my poor Luka climbed into it and got stuck! (It was cute until I realized he couldn't get out hence the picture....) I'm glad I found him as quickly as I did.. because the dispenser round, he couldn't get himself turned around to crawl back out. I had to take the dispenser off the cage and get him out of the top. I'll be sticking to a bowl from now on.

Not good for your hamster

So I got this for my hamster at petsmart so that way I he can eat his own food instead of me giving him on his plate and one day I was eating and I found him inside of the food disposal and I panicked and he was stuck until I took him out so I recommend not getting this for your hamster because he/she will get stuck

My hamster got out we’ll asleep

I had a male white snowball dwarf hamster, we was my everything and we were at pet co so we bought it. Late when I was asleep he got out, I had a panic attack that morning Judd’s balling my eyes. We late found him on a clue trap, we were able to get him off the glue trap and everything went a-okay after we took that thing off

Works best as add on for cage (play)

Hello I got this as a gift for my hamster (bubba) and well she doesn’t really enjoy eating food out of it. She would rather play with it. She climbs in and out of this food tray instead. It’s great though because she uses it to exercise instead.
