Love, love, love this cage. It's perfectly designed my mice are only able to chew on the bars...like a type writer, funny. Not even a scratch, I think the bars must be powder coated. Anyways, easy to clean and re-assemble. Looking forward to add-on, so many choices. The wheel is their favorite! I recommend for mice, best cage, escape proof.
Connecting rings are not flexible enough. I have broken components trying to open weekly for cleaning. Also no instructions about assembly with different connections/tubes.
After receiving this item and seeing how small it is, I realized there are multiple habitats pictured in this listing. The item we received is super small, and it's not the habitat in the picture that shows children as a "size reference". My son used that picture to determine this was the one he wanted.
To Start with the description said that it was 13 inches but the box it came in was only 12.5 inches. the water bottle instructions say something about removing a metal cap which there was none and no visible of even opening it to but water in. the description also said ease of cleaning, well not really when you have to almost take it apart. Chewy should not even try to sell this.
It is great for a dwafe hamster not a full size hamster
The darn thing wouldn't even snap together on the ends. It's a piece of junk,
I bought this as an 'vacation' home for my Penelipe. Penelope is a sweet Teddy Bear Syrian Hamster my husband got me for my anniversary. She was in it for less than 2 hours and than GONE. She literally pushed the one knob out and disappeared into my house somewhere. Shes been MIA now since thanksgiving. I wanted to use this as a temp place so I could clean her enclosure. I did get another hamster but I am afraid to connect both enclosures of fear of her getting out. Still havent found Penelope(neither has my other furbabies, thank god) but worried about trying to put Freckles in it. She is not as gentle and sweet as my Penelope, but she needs to have a larger area to live in too.
When I was young this is the cage I got my first hamster in I didn't know anything about hamster or how to take care of one but now I do and this cage is not for them to live in its to small and also the hamster can escape easy from the sides and top. I had to put tape around it and a big heavy book to keep it from escaping; but this cage would be good for a play pin but you must always watch the hamster because it can escape.
Received our cage broken, sadly. Contacted customer care who sent me a replacement free of charge! Hocus and his brother Pocus started fighting and we needed a quick second habitat! Pocus is one happy mouse in his new habitat. He will remain a lone boy and is rather small for a mouse, so this cage is perfect. We will surly add some attachments later, but for now, it’s great! This is a smaller cage, so may work for a very small rodent friend. Not a hamster or gerbil.
Showed up with a crack in the side. The "no drip" water bottle dripped out COMPLETELY. The wheel was very hard to turn. Had to put tape on the sides to cover the crack.
